Chapter 14

Carter's POV

"Alex? Is it really you?" I ask her in complete shock. She smiles before lunging at me and tackling me to the ground. I wrap my arms around her before squeezing tightly.

"I missed you so much Carter. I thought I'd never see you again." She cries out into my shouler as she curls herself around me. I sniff before wiping a stray tear away. I sit up but continue to keep a hold of her.

"I missed you to." I whisper in her ear. We sit there for a while, just hugging each other and trying to keep our tears at bay.

"Uh...how do you two know each other?" I hear Alessio ask from above us. I look up with a soft smile and a blush.

"Well, uh, remember when I said that I had a sister who ran away? I was talking about Alex." I say shrugging as the two of us stand up. We all sit down on the couches, me next to Alex.

"Alright, where to begin. Um when I was around the age of eight my parent's were informed that one of my mom's friends had just recently died and that she had a child. And that my mother was the godmother. So the child came to live with us, up until she decided to run away. And now we're here." I say, cutting the whole story short. They all look slightly confused for a bit before nodding their heads and smiling.

"Small world huh." Alex adds making the rest of us laugh. I turn to her and start to talk with her. We catch up on everything but as we talk I begin to remember something.

"Alex? Are you the girl that Jason hurt?" I ask, causing everyone to go silent. She bites her lip and looks over at the guys. I do the same and see a glare present. She sighs and turns to me.

"I guess they finally told you about him huh?"

"No, Jason told me-"

"You've seen him!" She yells with a bright smile. I nod my head but stop when Luca interrupts.

"Why are you so excited about knowing that monsters alive?" He asks her, making her glare in his direction.

"Cause he didn't mean it!"

"Then why would he do it! He hurt you, tried to kill you and yet here you stand, standing up for him. Why?" Alessio asks her, standing up and towering over her small frame. She glares up at him, not the least bit scared of what he's capable of doing.

"It's not my place to say, but I will say this, you guys judged him without hearing the full story. You didn't know him like I did. He may have been your lover but I was his best friend. Until you took me away from him."

Wait, Jason was they're lover? Why did they never tell me? I can understand why Jason never told me, he didn't know that I was with them. But why wouldn't they tell me?

"Fine. Carter, you tell him to come over. But nothing he says can change our minds about him." Romeo says, moving Alessio back. He goes to say something but immediately goes silent when Romeo gives him look. He grumbles under his breath as he sits down and cross his arms over his chest. Romeo looks over at me and I nod. They may have been lovers once but I trust my men to not leave me.

I stand up and walk to the kitchen and dial his number. It's not long before he answers.

"Hello?"

"Hey Jason, it's Carter."

"Her Carter, what's up?"

"So remember when you were telling me about your family?"

"Yeah? What about them?"

"Well I know all of them and they want you to come over. Please Jason, don't you think it will be better to tell them the truth? Plus Alex is here and she misses you." I say to him, trying to convince him. I hear him sigh before he accepts. I give him the address before hanging up and heading back over to everyone. I tell them that he's coming and I can see that the guys are tense about this.

It takes a while before he shows up but we soon here a knock on the door. Alex and I stand up and walk to the door. She opens and immediately takes him into her arms. He smiles happily and wraps his arms around her. I look at Alessio sternly when I see that he wants to pull them apart. I then greet Jason happily then lead him inside. We all sit down and the guys keep a close eye on Jason.

"Explain."

"Angelo!"

"No its fine Carter. I was diagnosed with Schizophrenia at a very young age. My childhood wasn't the best and that lead to me acquiring this. I never told you guys about it cause I always thought that you'd hate and be disguted by me. The day of the incident I had just ran out of my pills. And when Alex touched my shoulder I thought she was someone else that I knew. I never meant to hurt her, and I regret doing it, cause in turn I lost the only family I ever had. I don't expect you all to forgive me but I'm glad that I could finally share the truth with you." He says before standing up and heading for the door.

"Wait." I hear Alessio say before he stands up and walks to Jason. Jason looks up at him in slight fear. He gasps as Alessio pulls him close and hugs him to him tightly.

"I'm sorry Jason." He says making Alex and I smile. The rest of them then go and apologise and by the end Jason is in tears. He walks over to me quickly before hugging me tightly.

"Thank you so much Carter." He whispers softly in my ear.

"No problem Jason. You saved me, now just consider this returning the favour." I say to him with a soft smile.

"He saved you? From what?" We both look at each other before laughing.

"From a seriously drunk guy."

"Well, um, okay. How about we all go out for dinner?" Stefano asks all of us. We all agree and enjoy our night out. Though I feel like this happiness will be short lived.
