Carter's POV

"Someone better explain to me what the fuck is going on right now!" I yelled, stomping my way in the middle of them. I watched as Jax glared at all five of them while they did the same to Jax. They all held they're guns pointed up high, from the direction it looked to be all head shots. I knew that Jax wouldn't survive if bullets went flying, it was one against five. None of them responded, keeping the death glares on each other. Jax's eyes stayed mainly on Romeo though.

"Hello! Answer me for fuck sakes!" I yelled, looking at Jax then back to the five. Stefano glared before his eyes fell upon me.

"Watch that mouth Pet, or else you'll be punished in front of everyone." He growled out causing me to blush. But before I could respond Jax did it for me.

"He doesn't belong to you Arschloch!" Jax sneered, grabbing my hand and pulling me behind him. The others didn't seem to like that and I could see that they were about to shoot but before they could I stood in front of Jax.

"Don't you dare touch him!" I screamed, glaring at them all. They all looked at me in shock, not expecting me to have gotten in line of fire like that. Especially with them almost shooting. I looked over to both Marcus and Colby, who both stood in the kitchen with Alex behind them. They all looked concerned and scared, their eyes darting between the guys and me.

"I am so sorry about this guys, Jax and I will return later." I said, turning around and grabbing his hand before making our way to the door.

"Carter don't you dare leave with him!" Angelo yells out. I open the door, ignoring them and pull Jax down the stairs. Alex had already said we could borrow her car for the time that we were here. I climb into the car before sitting in the drivers seat. Jax climbs in, not a word said between us as I start the car up and drive away.

The drive to the hotel is tense and quiet. As we eventually pull up I park the car before climbing out and grabbing my bags. I head into the hotel not waiting for Jax. I was absolutely furious. How in the hell did he know the guys? Is he also part of the mafia? I thought we told each other everything! Walking up to the front desk I pulled on a fake smile for the young lady.

"Hi Sir, how may I help you?" She asked politely, a beaming smile present on her face.

"Booking for Carson." I said and she immediately typed away on the computer. Eventually she smiled and turned around, grabbing a set of keys. She faced me and handed them to me.

"Room 204, enjoy your stay here Mr Carson." She smiled before moving onto another guest. I picked my bag up once again and made my way into the elevator. Jax climbed on as well, but wisely kept his distance. Frankly right now I wanted to beat the shit out of both him and the guys. I hated secrets, I hated them with a burning passion.

The ding of the elevator brought me away from my thoughts. The doors opened and I stepped out of the elevator, walking down the hall looking for our hotel room. Eventually I found it and unlocked it. I held back the urge to just slam the door shut on Jax's face but stopped myself. Walking into the hotel room, I went straight to the bedroom and sat my bag down. I sat down next to it, running my hands down my face while groaning. I layed back, looking up at the ceiling. Why is this happening to me? First I find out that the first men that I ever loved were working in the Mafia, well technically ran it and now Jax. Am I just cursed to be with men who like guns?

"Carter?" Jax spoke from the door, not taking a step into the room. The man was smart. I sighed and sat up, glaring at him before looking down at him. He knew me well enough to know that meant he could come in. He took both our bags before setting them down by the closet. He walked over to me and sat down next to me.
