The bell makes a quiet ring and im greeted with a friendly, "Buenas dias." i nod my head in the direction of the elder women who was handling the cafe. I sit next the the window and away from the people. Maybe Marcelo was right, its too quiet here. The elderly women walks her way to me and pulls out a pen and notepad.
"no mace una" I tell her and she smiles as i hand her a twenty euro. I told her to keep the change and i watched her slowly go back into the kitchen. She looked so happy and peaceful. Nobody is wathcing her every move or trying to start rumors about her walking into a cafe. Sometimes I wish my life would have been like that. Peaceful and quiet. Everyone just wanting your money or your manhood. I chose the life I wanted and honestly I'm happy, I just feel that I can be MORE happy. I looked around the room to see what the people were up to. Most of them had their noses in a book or they were looking at a computer screen. I got my phone out to see if anyone had tweeted about my cafe visit. Nothing yet. I was wearing a baseball cap and some sunglasses so nobody can really recognize me.
"Be careful, hot." The elderly woman told me as she placed my coffee on the table. I smiled at her and thanked her for her services. I took off my baseball cap and glasses, nobody cares about me here. She walked back into her kitchen with the same loving smile that made me feel good about myself. I put my phone away and focus on my coffee. This place is just to quiet. It gives me chills, the fact that my ears aren't ringing or the I can actually hear my breathing scares me a bit.
I gave my coffee one last Galp before leaving the kind women a tip. I walked toward the exit and heard a thank you from behind me. I smiled and waved back as I opened the door. I hit an object and immediately turn around. A girl grabs her head and I turn my charm on. She looks American so I should speak English.
"I'm so sorry miss." I tell her and she shakes her head and looks up at me. The green in her eyes catches me off guard and I feel a chill go down my spine.
"It's fine," she tells me in an American accent. I stand in her way and she gives me a look and I quickly move to the side.
"I'm sorry." I tell her. She walks around me and all I can do is watch as her messy bun sways from side to side.
I let go of the door and walk slowly into my car, what just happened. She wasn't even hot, she wore an ugly looking sweater and extremely baggy pants. Her glasses looked like a telescope but it helped me see the colors in her eyes. Something about that ugly woman made me feel weird. I never felt that way before. I shake my head and turn up the music in the radio. I don't want to think about anything right now but my bed and a remote.
