"Say to what, exactly?" Your eyes narrowed and brow furrowed. Suddenly, Castiel was shoved through the door. It seemed like he was bound, weakened, you shot a worriedly look as he fell to his knees.
"What's wrong with him?" You demanded.
"You don't recognize your own idea, oh well, of course not. Sam and Dean never let you test it out. Those, my dear, are your Angel Cuffs. They work marvelously, as you can see." He smirked. You swallowed hard. He snapped his fingers, Sam and Dean were now bound and gagged. You let out a worried breath.
"Say to what, exactly?" You sharpened your words, raisin your voice a little. He smiled.
"I'm sure 'Cassie' knows." You looked at Cas, you both cringed at the old nickname, that had been long retired.
"I assume he wants to make a deal." Lucifer shrugged.
"More of a wager. A 'a fiddle of gold, against your soul' kind of thing."
"Why?"
"Because, I think I'm better than you." You hated that. You are extremely competitive, and this was a game. No matter what the game, you had never lost.
"Okay. Let's play. What're the terms?" You challenged. He smiled.
"The fiddle of gold is, let's say, your friends lives," He leaned in and whispered, "and let's assume that your soul means your heart as well," your cheeks flushed a light pink, he returned to his prior stance, "and I believe I'm better than you at your favorite game." You knew what he meant. You leaned in, pretending like you were going to kiss him, but moved to his ear instead.
"And what would that be?" You could feel his spine tingle at the flirtatious gesture. He slid an arm around your waist, and held your face in the other.
"Crush or be crushed, of course." You'd played the game many times. You knew the basic rules. But it was obvious that you were crushing on each other already, so how could you play? The whole purpose was to make the other person fall for you.
"With a slight twist. As you so obviously pointed out. You fight to get your friends back, any means necessary, and I fight to make you focus on me. We have a deal?" You looked at your 'friends'. They weren't just your friends, they were your family, all you knew. You felt conflicted. Sam and Dean would be angry if you did this, but you really wanted to. You wanted to kill him for what he did to them, but you couldn't. You wanted to kiss him, but refused to let yourself fall into those blue eyes.
Every bone in your body said to say no, but you said, "Yes." Lucifer smiled, leaning in to kiss you. You wanted to kiss him as bad as he wanted you to. You held up both hands to stop him.
"Not until you loosen Cas's cuffs." He smirked, chuckled a bit and considered the offer.
"Well aren't you catching on fast?" He snapped and Castiel's cuffs loosened to a position that didn't drain him so badly. He let out a sigh of relief. You pulled Lucifer in by his jacket's collar and kisses him, just pressing your lips to his. You pulled away.
"Let the games begin." Lucifer snapped and you were suddenly alone in the room. You had to think of this strategically. The last person Lucifer would want to free is Cas. The way he mocked the old nickname, despite it no longer meaning anything, meant that he was clearly jealous of him. Sam was smart, he'd be able to help you, but Dean's emotions would take over. That's who he'd be willing to release first. But you needed whatever help you could get. You laid the trap. Holy fire, a very large circle, and the archangel blade bullets. You held a regular gun to light the circle, matches would give away your plan too easily.
"Hey, Lucifer, I'm ready for the first round." You called out in a singsong voice. He eagerly appeared, only feet away from you, but inside the circle. You held the regular gun up.
"You think that toy will hurt me?" He laughed.
"Nope. But this will." His laugh cut off, but he didn't have time to escape before you shot at the circle, igniting the holy oil.
"Smart." Your heart beat faster. You wanted his arms around you, you wanted him. You took a deep breath. Be objective.
"Give me Dean, and I'll release you from the fire." You offered lightly. He chuckled.
"Let me out, and you can finally be you. The real you. You don't want Dean holding you back! C'mon!" He countered.
"Wrong answer." You held up the gun with archangel bullets. You grazed his right arm. He gripped it tight.
"That, my sweet, was impressive. Fine. I'll give you little boy blue, but don't think the rest will be this easy. This is me throwing you a bone." He said, looking at the wound. You kicked over a water bucket, putting out the fire. He snapped his fingers, and Dean was there. Hurt, and bleeding but he was there. Lucifer moved to you, but you were worried about Dean.
"Give me a kiss and I'll heal him," He whispered in your ear, you snapped your head to look at him, "A real one this time, please." You considered the offer. Last time you had just pecked him and the feelings you had for him had grown an astonishing amount. But Dean was injured, badly. Knowing you had reached your decision, Lucifer gently leaned you into him. One arm around your waist and the other hand was on your cheek. Just like last time. You wrapped your arms around his neck as the kiss intensified. Dean would bleed out soon. You had to break away. You pulled away suddenly and Lucifer seemed disappointed.
"Well, a deal's a deal." He touched two fingers to Dean's forehead, then zapped out.
"Are you okay?" Dean exclaimed. He was still worried about you.
"I'm fine. Let's just focus on getting Sam and Cas back, okay?" He nodded in agreement.
You walked back to your room, and Dean went to the library. He had yet to realize this wasn't about who had the most power, but who had the most control over theirs. Right now, you had the upper hand. Lucifer wanted you way more than you wanted him. But it wouldn't last long. With each touch you could feel it intensify, and grow. It wouldn't be long until this was less a battle of wits, and more a battle of self control.

FanfictionFalling for the devil. Reader x Lucifer, because really, Luci is terribly misunderstood. This doesn't follow the same storyline as my previous book had given, but I think you'll still enjoy it... I hope. But hey, look! Lucifer pretended to be a cop...
