I wish I was anyone but me

Melody's POV

"Melody! Table number five!" My boss, Daniel, shouted at me from the kitchen. I inwardly groaned and picked up the paper and pen reluctantly. I quickly glanced at the table and banged my head on the mahogany table in frustration. Why was life against me today? I didn't do anything wrong. Since I woke up this morning it had been crappy. Firstly, my alarm went off at three in the morning instead of seven but yet turned off when I needed to wake up so I was late for work. Also, I had tripped up a rock falling into a puddle of muddy water before heading into my mini and life being the kindest, had a bird shit on me right there and then. Daniel screamed at me for being late since the restaurant was unusually packed and has made me take people's orders from everyone here.

Unfortunatly, the school's popular gang just walked in who included; the queen bee, Ashley and her little slutty cheerleading minions accompanied by Jake, the school quarterback who was so hot with his dirty blond hair and hazel eyes which matched his girlfriend Ashley's, and three of his football friends. I truly did not want to deal with the stuck up brats right now, they were last on my list to do today.

"Daniel can I please go to another table?" I begged sticking out my bottom pink lip to look cute.

Unfortunately, Daniel, being the awesome boss he is, smiled evilly knowing I would do anything out of this order.

"Sorry Melody this one's yours, I'll tell you what after this one you can go home for the day, and you look like you can use the rest." He winked playfully at me showing off his left dimple. Daniel ruffled my curly blond hair grinning. I glared at his brown eyes through my own icy blue ones.

I grumpily gave up and walked towards table five. It's okay if you survive this you can go home and sleep in your comfy bed with your soft, plush pillows, I reassured myself. Sometimes I really hate Mother Nature. As soon as I got to hearing distance between the tables who were chatting loudly, I immediately put on a fake smile.

"Hello welcome to Dazy Villa Café what can I get you?" I really hated that name for some unknown reason probably for having to repeat it every time a new person came in to the restaurant.

"Yes I would like a non fat latte with a slice of banana bread." Ashley practically demanded me pausing for effect. "Wait does the banana bread have more than 10 calories?"

Okay what a Ditz almost every meal has more than ten calories!

This is the reason why people make up blond jokes and immediately think we are dumb because of people like Ashley.

Yet I kept my cool and smiled sweetly.

"No it's healthy."

One of the boys, Nate, snorted loudly but I merrily rolled my eyes hoping he wouldn't give me away. I could feel someone staring at my blond curls watching my every move which was making me feel disgusted and uncomfortable. I turned to the boys and asked, "And you?"

Nate had a mischievous smirk on his face which I knew was not good. Every time Nate smirked like that, he was either trying to ruin someone's social life, not that I have one, or trying to get into a girls pants. He was the player out of the group also known as Jake's best friend. I remember when I used to have a crush on him in middle school before he turned into a jerk.

"Are you on the menu darling?" So it was the latter. Do I have a physic mind or what?

"If that's your way of flirting you are going to have to do better than that." I told him blowing one of my blond curls out of my face. I almost slapped my hand into my face. I'm such an idiot how much more trouble do I want to get into this morning, obviously a lot looking at Nate's red, embarrassed face. First rejection it hurts doesn't it Nate. Howls of laughter were heard from Jake and Ben who were slamming the table. "Nice one Blondie!"
