The Black Crow
...

I haven't gone to school for the past three consecutive days and people surrounding me started getting worried. My friends never wasted a day without visiting me. Aunt called my Mom, Casie to stay with me.

Three days turn into four, then five until---a week passed.

My aunt and my Mom were so worried about my study's. I'll be expelled if I don't go to school the next day according to the notice sent by the school office.

The next day, I went to school for the sake of my Aunt and my Mom irresistible request. I forgot about dreams and futures at all. All I could say about life now is that--it was so unfair!

The class just went-on as normal but a bit wry since two students already died from that class. Yet, life must continue. No one knows except my friends that there's something going between me and Jasmin.

Slow and unnoticeable, another week passed after the funeral and burial of Jasmin. We all came. I tried my best not to cry that day but I just couldn't help it. My aunt and my Mom came with me and gave their condolences' to Jasmins mother.

I embraced Bernadeth, Jasmin's mother and Jonathan, Jasmin's brother as we bade farewell. Jasmin was buried in the same cemetery where Martin was buried. I saw the crow again in the same spot where I saw it before, staring at me. I looked at it fiercely, it stared back for a while and suddenly spreads out his wings and flew.

The Prom night is approaching slowly in three days. Everyone is excited except me--not me anymore.

"Dude you should still go to the prom."

Janet stood in front of me with her hands on her waist and her eyes flaring in annoyance, "Yeah, light up! Jasmin will hate you seeing you like this, returning back into your obsolete zombie world!" She said --complaining. I gazed at her lazily and shook my head in ignorance. But, they kept-on encouraging me even though my stubbornness arises and eventually, all I could do is to nod. I glanced at Carol, she is also a silent type like me. She was just doing nodding in accordance in whatever the two was saying.

When the prom finally came, I attended. Janet is my partner. We danced and tried to have fun. But I, can still feel Jasmin's absence deeply as well as the others can feel it, even though their smiles perfectly sculpted in their faces. We all feel it, I know it.

When I got home; I freely let my tears drizzled down-- unrestrained; I don't want to hold it back anymore.
