"I can't take this anymore!" I yelled as I opened the door to Calum's apartment.

"What happened? I thought things were going fine with Alyssa? Did she find out!?" He asked nervously.

"No but it's killing me on the inside! She keeps asking about how we know each other and I keep lying and it's just awful!" I ran my fingers through my hair." I just want to be honest with her."

"Why don't you?" Michael asked.

"Because-" I stopped because I can't tell them about Mr. Davenport and what he's doing." Because I'm the only one she trusts right now and I don't want to leave her on her own in this kind of state."

"Dude, calm down. Have a cookie." Michael held out a plate of Oreos. I took one and bit into it.

"Thanks but I still don't feel better." I sat down.

"Look, you could've been a complete ass about the situation and drove away after hitting her, but did you? No! You helped her! You took her to the hospital hand helped take care of her! Here you are now helping her get her memory back even though you used to be a completely ass to her back then." Calum explained.

"Your point?"

"My point is that you're making up for that by doing the right thing so stop worrying, take a load off and get your head back together!" He yelled.

"What if I don't want to take a load off? What if I want to get everything off my chest? Or turn myself in for hitting her?!" I rebutted.

"Both of you fucking stop!!" Michael screamed.

"You," he pointed to Calum." He is very stressed out and taking a load off could make it worse so just chill."

"And you," he pointed to me." You might not feel that way later on so just keep going with the flow and just chill."

"Thanks." I got up and left. I really just needed to be alone right now.

Alyssa was doing better so I should be worried; Eventually she'll remember everything I did to her and who I really was.

I took the money from her dad out of my pocket and stared at it. Was it really worth it?

I stuffed it back in before driving home.

"Hi honey!" My mom called as I walked in." Mr. Davenport called. He said Alyssa's next appointment is next Monday at four."

I nodded, not even looking up.

"How's she doing?" My mom asked.

"Not well. She's having a really hard time remember anything. It's like everything was erased from her brain without a single trace." I explained.

"I hope the police find the awful man who hit her."

My heart started beating fast like it was about to pop. This fucking sucked. I can't tell anyone the truth that doesn't already know. I can't even tell my own fucking mother!

I just really wanted this all to disappear and be over with already.
