Chapter 14

Ayden

"Who would have ever thought my best friend would be getting married before me." I chuckled as we walked out the hotel.

"Definitely not me except that one time when... never mind." Khalil laughed before getting in the passenger seat of the car.

"What about when you secretly  proposed to Veron-

"Can we get some breakfast before we head to the airport." Khalil spoke cutting off Kendall.

I already knew the name he was getting ready to say and I wish I hadn't have heard it.

"Wait Veronica who?" I asked hoping deep down inside that this was not the same Veronica, Trinity was best friend's with and helping plan her wedding.

The car was silent it's as if know one understood English all of a sudden. I mean her brothers weren't in the car so there was nothing for them to be afraid of so what was the issue.

"I'm sorry dog we were all sworn to secrecy." Our friend, Terry spoke.

"He's right it's in the past anyways so it doesn't matter." Khalil said before taking another drink of his coffee.

"I'm your best friend and you mean to tell me I can't know the name of the woman you 'secretly proposed" to and when it happened?" I asked sounding kind of hurt.

"You're right, but you can't tell a soul not even Madison. You can't question the person I proposed to either."

"Which is?"

"It was Trinity's best friend, Veronica Jones."

"Oh shit when? Does Trinity know about it?"

"Well you know Veronica and I attended the same college so we met at a party and a one night stand turned into sleeping over which eventually turned into us dating for about a year in a half. Then she ended up pregnant."

"Wait Veronica's the girl you were so head over heels for in college?"

"Yes Ayden and well I don't know I say going into her sixth month I had this crazy idea that I wanted to marry her. Since Veronica was Veronica she didn't necessarily agree to it, but then about a month later she thought it was the greatest idea in the world. It was the next day after the miscarrage that she went back to her first mind which was probably what was best." 

I could hear the sadness in his voice growing with every word he spoke.

"Damn well does Trinity know?" I asked curiously.

"All she knows is that I got Veronica pregnant she doesn't know about us dating or the engagement or at least I don't think she knows." He explained before sighing deeply.

"Well after what you told me happened the other week after the dinner party she might know more than you think. Most women would have just told you that you were just getting nervous, but she wanted to completely cal of the wedding." 

"Veronica must have the goods out this world. Khalil you don't mind if I try her out do you?" Terry asked interrupting.

"That's a question you should be asking Ayden he's the one with a high school crush on her." Khalil joked looking over to me. 

I ignored Khalil as we finally arrived at the airport. His bachelor day's were officially over after last night and four days from now he will be promising to become one with his "soul mate" as he calls her.

Finally arriving home I heard the shower on which meant Madison was here. I put down my luggage and headed straight for the bed because jet lag plus my hangover had me ready to pass out all over again.
