Sakura awakened to a warm and bright light. Her head felt heavy as if it were weighed down with rocks, and her body ached as if her body had been hit with one of Tsunade's bone - shattering punches. Her eyes took in her surroundings and tried to sit up, only to yelp in pain and quickly lay back down. How did she come to feel so much pain? Even though she suffered a blow to the stomach, and received cuts and bruises, she didn't sustain any serious injuries. She brought her hand to her face and flexed it, making sure that none of her nervous system was damaged. She stared at her hand, fascinated by how realistic the icicle seemed. It seemed so real, not to mention the realistic moving images she saw. She remembered every each and one of them clearly, but the last one still lingered with her. She turned her head around and saw Sasuke sitting by the cave entrance, his back hunched over.

After deciding that her body didn't hurt as much as before, she slowly stood up and quickly braced her hand on the wall before she could topple over. Slowly, but steadily, she inched over to where Sasuke sat. She winced at the pain and cursed for not sitting down slower after she found a spot next to the ravenette. Sakura glanced over at the quiet Uchiha. His features were calm and his body seemed relaxed, but he seemed so distanced from her. Her full, pink lips upturned into a small frown from the thought of him getting farther and farther away. She wanted to close the gap between them, she missed the relationship they had back then, yet she knew it wouldn't be the same. If it won't be the same then at least she could rekindle their relationship into something stronger and better.

"How are you feeling?", he asked suddenly, his monotonous voice reverberating through the cool night air.

"Oh I-I'm fine, just a little sore is all", she smiled,

He said nothing after that. They sat in a comfortable silence, listening to the crickets humming their nightly song and feeling the cool breeze that kissed their skin. The events of today's battle was still imprinted in her mind. What was the plan Sasuke was planning and why didn't her tell her?

As if he read her mind he said, "Today, when we were fighting I had created a strategy, but I didn't tell you. I apologise for surprising you like that. I sensed the enemy before we got to the creek. I purposely stopped there so that we had a chance to face off with the enemy before we got to the next village". He paused before continuing. "The reason I had to knock you out was for the sake of confusing the enemy. When I confronted them he asked me why I knocked my partner out. I said it was because she would hinder me, that she would only get in the way of fighting. Once I told him that, he instantly lowered his guard. Then I was able to take him down and interrogate him more easily".

His companion beside him smirked, "Well that was foolish of him. You should never underestimate your opponent on the battlefield", she mused, tilting her head back, her hair glowing under the illuminating moon.

"After I interrogated the enemy I got some information that might help us find the base of the enemy", he stated, his gaze focused on the scenery that surrounded them. The forest of trees stretched out in front of them, going on for miles. Their cave resting high above the forest no a small cliff, safe from the predators that roamed in the night.

"So what have you found out about them?", she inquired, inspecting the ends of her short, sakura pink hair.

Sasuke shuffled in a much more comfortable position, before speaking. "I didn't find the exact location of their base but I managed to find out that their location is near Mt Myoboku. It's going to take a while but we'll get there in time to stop them from doing whatever they planned". He sighed. "We're going to have to leave at dawn so have a head start", he instructed. "Understood?".

"Yes!", Sakura mock saluted with a grin on her face. She stood up and entered the cave mouth to unpack her small sleeping bag.

Mt Myoboku, huh. That's going to be a long trip. It's said to be about a month's trip on foot and plus their base is said to be near so it's going to take time to find it, she thought as she unpacked her bags.
