Alec couldn't believe this was already happening. The wedding he didn't want to go through with, but had to. He had to fix the family name, pick up the pieces of what they've dropped, he couldn't let his real love get in the way of that. He watched as his sister, Izzy or as he would like to call her Isabelle, came toward the front to bring the traditional wedding bracelet. He couldn't keep his mind off of what he had said to Magnus. The harsh words he didn't mean to say. Magnus approached Alec. "Emotions are never black in white, they are more like...symptoms." Magnus said before walking slowly around Alec. "You loose your breath every time they enter a room," Alec let out a deep breath, he lost his breath even as the warlock gained closer. Magnus snapped making Alec's hand reflex to check his heart, which was beating rapidly, "Your heart beats faster when they walk by," Alec hurried and took his hand off his chest in embarrassment, "Your skin tingles when they stand close enough to feel their breath." Magnus playfully breathed out onto Alec's neck making him flustered and turned away to catch his breath before facing Magnus. "I know you feel what I feel Alec." The warlock was right, but his family name had to be fixed, Love is only a distraction. "You don't have any clue what I feel," Alec spoke taking the Warlock back a little. "So back off." Alec turned towards the door and walked. "This is all just a game to you! Isn't it? You flirt, you laugh, you use magic, but the end of the day, what do you risk? Even if I did feel something for you, you want me to give up my life for you?!" Magnus stood hurt as Alec turned to face him. "I have to do what's right for ME. I could lose my family, my career, everything! You just don't get it!" Magnus stood with his chin up as Alec immediately regretted everything he said. "You have a choice to make, I will not ask again." Alec turned to find Magnus had vanished. Alec was pulled out of his thoughts for Lydia to walk down the aisle. Alec sighed through his nose as she walked up. Alec pulled her up with her hand as she turned and smiled at him. He watched as Lydia grabbed the traditional bracelet and put it on Alec's arm. Alec gave a slight smile and before grabbing the traditional wedding necklace his best friend Jace held and put it on her. "It is time for Alec Lightwood and Lydia Brownwell to mark each other with the Wedded Union rune. A rune on the hand, a rune on the heart, a union is born." Lydia grabbed the stele as she pressed it against the stone before grabbing Alec's wrist. Alec gave the same slight smile to Lydia who smiled back and looked down to his wrist, ready to burn in the rune until, the doors busted open. Alec and Lydia looked to the entrance to see Magnus walk in and stop in his tracks. Magnus' heart was pounding with anger and love all at once as he stopped in his spot. Alec's heart began pounding as well with love and joy to see the warlock standing there. He couldn't stop himself from staring into each other's eyes. Maryse, Alec's mother, stood and began walking to his true love. "Magnus, leave this wedding NOW." "Maryse this is between me and your son. I'll leave if he asks me to." Magnus walked pasted Maryse and stopped. They stood there, looking at each other, as if the world around them had froze in time. "You gonna be okay buddy?" Alec heard Jace ask. Alec began to breathe heavily like he had once the warlock approached him earlier. "Alec." Lydia spoke up. The Lightwood turned to face her. "Hey." She said and let out a small laugh. "I...I can't breathe." Alec spoke trying to catch his breath. "I know, it's ok." She responded with a smile. "I can't do this. I thought we were doing the right thing, but this isn't it." Alec said in an apologetic way. "You don't have to explain." "Lydia I'm sorry." "Hey," Lydia placed her hand on Alec's cheek, "You deserve to be happy, okay? I'll be fine." Alec looked down before breathing in and facing Magnus. Time froze, the two could feel their heart beats beat as one. Alec took a breathe as he walked down towards the warlock, both hearts beating faster before he stopped to catch his breath again. Is he willing to do this? Yes he was, he would for Magnus. He began walking forward again as Maryse walked forward. "Alec?! What are you doin-" "Enough." Alec spoke sternly to his mother, not breaking eye contact with Magnus. Once Alec was close enough, he grabbed the warlock by his shirt and pulled him into a kiss. It was happening, finally happening, this time time froze but nothing was around them, it felt like they were the only ones in the room. The two could tell there were eyes with smiles or the eyes with glares both on them, but they felt refused to leave one's embrace. Alec pulled back as Magnus desired more, looking into each other's eyes, before going back to kissing eachother lovingly. Love may be a distraction, but love is just enough for the two.
