The next day I woke up after six in the evening. It made sense because we didn't get to his apartment until at least seven in the morning.
I slowly sat up from where I was sleeping on the couch. I stretched my arms above my head before opening my eyes, the bright sun coming from the windows almost blinding me.
I blinked rapidly before getting used to it.
The living space was empty but when I looked into the kitchen I saw Thomas cooking something on the stove top.
I didnt know what it was from this distance but the smell was absolutely mouth watering.
I swung my feet off the couch, standing up and saw Thomas turn around to face me with a spatula in hand, "Oh hey Rachel, good evening" He smiled and chuckled softly.
I smiled as well, making my way to the kitchen, putting my arms on the kitchen counter, "What are you cooking?"
He shrugged his shoulders as he stepped out of the way so I could see two pieces of bread with a piece of cheese in the middle.
A grilled cheese sandwhich.
I shook my head softly as I looked at him.
"What? I like simplicity," he grumbled softly as he flipped the sandwhich. The side having a perfect golden grill.
I yawned softly, still smiling, "I'm not complaining." I slowly began to stretch again as I looked at him, "Thanks for letting me stay the night and everything but you probably are going to need to drop me off sooner or later."
He looked toward me confused, "I'm supposed to stay with you the whole day remember? To make sure you don't go to the pizzeria tonight."
He still isn't going to let me go.
I thought long and hard about it last night. All the different things that could happen and all of them led to one conclusion.
I had to go to the pizzeria tonight.
I slowly nodded, putting on the act that I knew would let his guard down. If I just played this right, I could escape his sight and head straight for the pizzeria.
He sighed in relief, "I'm glad you understand now. You really would be unsafe there, especially if he came. You don't want to become an animatronic as well right?"
I had never thought about that before. That the Puppet could turn my spirit into an animatronic one, cursed to live in the pizzeria.
But that didn't matter.
I would easily risk myself to take away their curse any day.
"Yeah, I understand that now. I understand why you all made such a fuss about it" the lie slipped easily between my teeth.
I felt Thomas's hand against my head and looked up to see him smile, "Thank you, I really thought I would have to chase you down today. I'm glad I don't."
Hopefully you wont realize I'm gone until it's too late.
"So..." Thomas took his hand from my head, taking the grilled cheese from off the pan and putting it on a plastic plate. He then held out the plate to me, "You need to eat something, you slept through lunch"
I shook my head but he continued to hold out the plate.
After a few minutes I took it just to please him. As I picked up the sandwhich and took a bite I turned towards him, "You said I slept through lunch, didn't you do too."
He shook his head, spreading butter on two slices of bread, "I couldn't sleep at all, but you were out like a light so I decided to go out and get some groceries." He then put the now made sandwhich on the pan, a good sizzle coming from it, "When I got back I just did a little research, thats all."
I nodded my head slowly and u could tell that he must spend countless days like this. I could see the bags under his eyes.
"Anyway," he flipped his sandwhich after a few minutes as i finished my last bite, "What do you want to do? Even though it's six, thats not late so we could go out and do something, come back here when you're tired again."
I couldn't help but smile.
This is a good idea. I need something to distract him.
I looked at the clock as it turned from six to seven.
I have five hours to kill until they come alive again.
It then popped into me head, a great and wonderful idea. Well, not really that great of one but it was on the other side of town so I'd only have two or three hours to kill instead of five.
Plus, I kinda wanted to do this for awhile now.
"How about we go see a movie? I heard there's some new horror movies out?" I turned towards Thomas as he was now beginning to eat his sandwich.
His eyes sparkled in amusment as he chuckled, nodding his head quickly, "That sounds like a great idea. I like horror movies." He stuffed the sandwhich into his mouth before turning off the stove and putting the pan in the sink. He moved around the island and to the front door, where a set of keys were hanging on a hook.
He quickly stuffed the keys in his pocket before turning towards me and opening the front door, "Come on Rachel, let's go have some fun okay?"
I slowly began to nod as i made my way to follow him. The process of my plan beginning to unfold.
I was going to make it to the pizzeria no matter what it took.
