I adjust my hands on the steering wheel of my car. Jack's leaving tonight for Alaska. I'm not sure if I believe him about his cousin. He's never talked about a cousin before... In fact, he always talks about having no family.

The light turns green and I press the gas, continuing my way to class. I find a spot in the parking lot and park my car in between the white lines.

I have a few minutes before class. I grab my diary, that I'm keeping by my side at all times because of the Anna situation, and I fish in my bag for a ratty old pencil.

I write:

Jack is leaving for Alaska. Well, that's what he says. He hasn't been home lately. He says he's with Hiccup but I know he hasn't. He's gonna be gone for several days and we can't even talk about this.

Before I get a chance to finish, or even write my name, I see it's three minutes before class.

"Shoot." I speak myself and jump out of my car, throwing the book and pencil in my bag.

I run across the lot, as my fingers touch the pull doors, someone grabs my hand and starts pulling me behind the building. Before I scream my head off, I see a strand of red curly hair fly out of the black hood.

I stop her.

"Mer?" I ask out.

She turns around with the hood still over the head and pulls and finger over her lips. "Shh".

It puzzles me why he's doing this so secretively. I walk next to her and she pulls my hand, still not letting go.

"Get in the car." She says opening the front door.

As she's about to jump in, she stops and puts her hand in her stomach. She winces in pain.

"You drive." She says quietly and walks to the other door.

"You really need to learn to call first." I laugh. She doesn't. "Where are we going?" I ask shutting the door.

"My house." She says, holding her stomach.

"A-" I was about to ask if she was okay but she cuts me off saying-

"Now. Go." She urges.

"What are you doing? Why didn't you call me back? Why is this so secretive?" I ask, driving.

"I'll explain when we're there." She says simply.

When we reach the first stop light she throws me a black hoodie.

"Put it on." She demands.

I slide it over my braid and right when I get it over the car behind me honks for me to go.

We pull in her drive way and she tell me to run into the house and she'll come in a few minutes later.

When she comes in the house she pulls me in her and Hiccup's room. She locks the door behind her.

"Ask away." She says pulling her hoodie down.

"Why's this such a secret?" Is my first question out of the many swirling in my mind right now.

"Pitch kid napped me the other day... When I was on my way to get you. He took me at a gas station. He told me to stay away from you and not help you with the investigation. He said he'd hurt my family-" Merida explains.

"He'd hurt your mom and dad back at home?" I ask. I wouldn't think he'd go back to our home state just for that.

"No... Elsa, I'm gonna have a baby." She admits with a nervous smile.

"Merida! Really?! That's amazing!" I jump off the bed and give her a big hug.

With a smile I say "I'm gonna be an aunt!" I hold my fists up screaming "Wahoo!"

"An aunt?" Merida laughs.

"We're practically sisters. Awe and she can have sleep overs with me and Jack!" I squeal.

"She? Sleepovers?" She laughs more.

"Okay okay back go the point." I get us back on schedule.

"Okay. I realized I couldn't just let him get away with this. So I thought if we met up we could make plans and stop him. We can't contact each other on our phones, though. He might be able to find out that way." She finishes.

"Wait..." I think. I've been hearing clicking on the house phone. Now that I think of it, it sounds like "Someone was listening in on the other house phone. When I called the first time and you said you were gonna pick me up in the morning... Pitch heard it."

"So, he drove my car out of gas and waited for me at the gas station in the morning." She finishes.

"It disgusts me just thinking he went in Anna's house for just a second." I scrunch my eye brows.

"I know. First things first... We need to find out who did it with him..."

Halo guys! I gotta say, not my best chapter, but I'm very excited for this book and the next. OOOOOO I ACTUALLY JUST NOW HAD AN IDEA. But I'm not gonna tell you haha omg it's so good sorry omg I can't wait this is gonna be GR99999. I'm still on vacation so maybe expect more?
