Third POV
The she-demon let out a light growl as she splashed the cool and clean water on her dirty and bloody wound. When she had refused to take the job, he and his partner attacked her. The woman had been very angry at the man, but still followed his orders to attack Mori.
He had said his name was Naraku, but nothing more. Mori couldn't tell what exactly he was, a half-demon, yes, but what kind? It almost seemed like he was a mix of many demons, and Mori knew that it wouldn't be smart to stay around for much longer. When she tried to leave, Naraku ordered the female to attack her and used her wind powers to attack. She aimed for the cat-demon's legs, because Naraku did not want her dead. Now scared for her life, Mori hid her scent in the mud and tree sap of the forest. It was a good cover, and one that she could wash off after a day or two. With an annoyed tail flicking, Mori began to set off again. She'd been walking for the past day and a half, with no luck on finding a peaceful place to rest. Finally, while she was wandering, she found a lonely dragon in the forest.
"Hey... Are you alone?" She slowly crept up to the large beast with open hands.
He seemed to understand her, giving her a mysterious look. The dragon looked as if he was determining whether she was friend or foe.
"It's okay... I'm alone too." Mori mumbled the last bit with bitterness.
At least she hadn't taken up Naraku's offer, it's for the best that she didn't. Who knows, maybe he controls people. Perhaps that woman was being controlled by him pulled her heart strings or holding something she held dear hostage. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much, Mori thought to herself.
The dragon gave a small grunt, as if deciding she was a friend. She gratefully came closer and gently patted his head in wonder. In her defense, she had never seen a dragon before, only giant lizards. Mori knew it was a dragon because unlike those lizards, this one had wings and a more muscle-packed physique.
"What are you doing?" A cold voice laced with anger spoke from behind and shocked the young cat-demon.
"I-I was just comforting the dragon." She defended with slight sass.
"More like the dragon was comforting the low-class cat-demon." Scoffed an upright-standing lizard as though she couldn't hear him.
"Says the one with a human child accompanying them." Mori snarled back.
"She has ears and a tail!" Cried the little human girl, ignoring the entire conversation.
"It wouldn't be here if it wasn't on Lord Sesshomaru's good side." The lizard combatted the cat-demon.
"Oh? So there's a Lord here, huh? Lord of what?" She sassed him.
"He's the 'Cold' Lord of the West!" Cheered the girl.
"Cold Lord of the West? Hm..." She seemed to be thinking as the human girl climbing off of the rock she was standing on and came over to check out the demon.
"Never heard of him. Who are you?" Her eyes wandered up to meet the golden eyes of the 'Lord'.
Even if he was an important person, what did it matter to her? She was worth practically nothing at this point. Her life was useless-who would waste their time on a cat-demon? One cat-demon left-over from a massacre where her entire clan died. There was probably a few cat-demons left in the world, but cat-demons were pretty worthless in society's eyes. They turn into slightly over-sized cats. Why would anyone want a cat anyways in this day and age? Many people were too poor to even have a sheep or cow, they wouldn't waste their time or money trying to buy or tame a cat. Cat-demons were known for being one of the weakest original pure-bred demons, so they would never be respected or noticed by other types of demons, even those less than them.
"That's fine. Now get away from my dragon." The man spoke slowly in a near-monotone voice. So she sniffed the air once more to find him of high-status. A dog-demon. And judging by his appearance-pale skin, gold eyes and silver hair, he seemed almost royal, like a prince.
Taking a few cautious steps away from the dragon, Mori's gaze was kept firmly on the trio. Her main worry was that they would suddenly attack her for touching their precious dragon. Many high-status demons have tried to kill Mori because she simply brushed past them or their luggage. It's not something that she could really help, though. Honestly, it's all their fault for letting it bump into her.
Leaving quietly, she heightened her senses to make sure that no one was following her. Actually, there's something weird that happened ever since she found that jewel that went inside her. All of her movements and senses were reaching past their normal limit. She could do things she couldn't before. And she could just barely make out the conversation the trio were having. Something about worthless cat, etc. With an unhappy grunt, Mori began to walk towards the nearest village, or the village that would give her food.
Disguising herself in a cloak of leaves, which she had used magic on it to make it look like a silk black cloak, she kept walking towards the entrance. It hid her ears and tail from sight and helped to hide her silver hair. Silver hair was a common high-class demon characteristic, but cat-demons were an exception-for the most part. Cat-demons could take on almost any color of hair, and even if their parents both had black hair, they could still have brown or silver hair. Sometimes, it was very rare, a child would be born with blonde hair. The blood of a golden haired child ran through all of the cat-demons' veins, though the root of the cat-demons is unknown, but most likely from a golden haired cat-demon.
Perhaps Mori's child-if she has one-will be blonde... But who can say? Many consider her to be the least likely to get a mate due to her sassy and unruly attitude. But there are no more cat-demons from her tribe, so much traveling would have to be down. Then again, they say people change for the one they love. Then again, she is a demon.
