It's dusk when we get off.
We're all greeted with warm welcomes. Almost all the campers were out.
I still hold on to Piper's hand while being greeted my my old friends.
Frank, Hazel and Reyna are the first to greet us.
"Hey, the weather's not that cold like in Camp Half-Blood," Piper whispers to me.
"It's San Francisco, Pipes, what did you expect?" I give her a soft pinch on her cheek. She swats my hand away.
*****************
It seems the camp has prepared a whole feast for us.
The stars and moon are already out. The camp is filled with lights from cabin windows and lanterns. There's a huge bonfire in the middle of the gathering causing dancing shadows. It all looks so alive. There's an excited buzz in the air.
All our friends sit on a long table. Piper and I sit together while Oliver hesitantly takes a seat by Reyna. His cheeks have gone red. Over all the talking I hear Reyna ask Oliver how Camp Half-Blood was for him. Piper and I share a knowing grin.
Oliver seems flustered, "Oh, it was actually more fun than I expected but think I'll stick to Camp Jupiter. it's my home more than any other place could ever be."
Reyna seems pretty pleased with the answer given her sense of loyalty. She beams at Oliver, "Yes, that's exactly how I feel."
They both go on to talk. Looks like it's not going to be that difficult for Reyna and Oliver's relationship to bloom.
Later, Piper gets caught in conversation with Frank and Hazel. I get up to chat with a few friends I haven't seen in a while when I notice a girl coming up to me. Her strawberry blonde hair sways softly in the wind. Her light brown eyes and fair face says she gets whatever she wants.
"Hey, Jason." Her voice is silky by kind of hollow as I'd it doesn't really hold any emotion in it.
" Um, hey."
"You remember me, right?"
When I give her a blank look she replied with one of a person completely offended.
"Come on, Jasie! I'm Hailey, you know, the girl who was always cheering for you at those sword thingies and stuff."
"Sorry, I don't-"
She cuts me off," It doesn't matter. I have to show you something." Before I can say no to her, she grabs my arm and pulls me along to this quiet place by the forest.
" Why are we here?" I ask.
Before I can say anything else, she pulls my face to hers and kisses me. For a second I'm so shocked that I don't do anything. The next second, I push her away.
"Jasie? What's wron-"
I interrupt," I already have a girlfriend." And I add," one who doesn't randomly jump on people."
"Come on, you can't deny that we didn't have something."
"We didn't have anything. I don't even know you, so stop following me."
I leave, my pace fast and determined. I have the sudden urge to go find Piper.
