(Trigger's POV)
It's been almost a year since the outbreak began and we were all suffering more or less, we'd lost some weight except my nephew but that's because we made sure he always ate before us. Tigress and Darwin were asleep in their sleeping bag the others were awake and moving to try to get most of the stuff ready to go before the sun rose. We had to find a stable place to stay at soon it was wearing on all of us traveling all the time even though gypsy blood ran through all of our veins. I think it was hardest on Darwin since he was only two but we were making do with what we could.
I walked over to Tigress and gently shook her shoulder "Hey Tig it's time to get up and head out." I spoke gently to her so as not to wake Darwin just yet.
Her eyes opened and she slowly sat up rubbing her eyes and looked around.
"Sorry I overslept Trig," she mumbled as she slowly got out of the sleeping bag.
"Eh it's ok we all know you haven't been sleeping very well," Gabreial spoke up.
We all got everything ready to go in the van, which had surprisingly lasted this long. Tigress carried her son to the van and gently laid him on one of the seats. We have been looking for a more stable "home" for months and all the places had only lasted a few days, we were all on edge.
(Tigress' POV)
We finally had everything ready to go and so we headed out, everyone had been on edge and I knew it. No one knew though that I was holding in my anger and all the stress and I was ready to snap but I wouldn't at them, never at them, they were the only people I cared about. Trigger was driving but I couldn't go back to sleep I was sitting in the passenger seat and we were talking about how we needed to find somewhere more permanent since it was getting colder and we wanted to be able to keep Darwin warm and safe through the winter.
We had been driving for about two hours and Darwin was awake and munching on something Zeke had given him. I was looking out the windows and that's when I saw it, I rolled down the window and stuck my head out to make sure I wasn't just seeing it.
"Trigger, pull over," I ordered getting out of my seat-belt.
"What? Why?" he asked me confused but pulled over none the less.
I got out and everyone followed my lead, I was still looking at it not taking my eyes off the sight for even a second thinking it just might disappear.
"Is that what I think it is?" Trinity asked.
"Is that a prison?" Sam asked smiling.
Zeke looked through his binoculars at it and he seemed to see something. "It looks like there are people there and they look pretty well protected," he stated, handing me the binoculars to look through.
"Maybe they have room for us?" Anna asked hopefully.
I looked through the binoculars and sure enough, there were people moving back and forth in the fenced in area, I smiled. *maybe, they will give us shelter at least for the winter. I mean we can help them with hunting, fishing, and that so maybe they will. I'm not gonna trust them though they will have to earn that.* I thought to myself. "They might Anna, we might as well go check it out and see if they have room for us. If not then we'll just have to keep looking won't we?" I answered honestly.
"We shouldn't put our guard down around them though they might not be all that kind," Gabreial spoke up.
"Agreed." I simply stated, " Just because we are asking for shelter and help does not mean that we should trust them right off the bat."
