Chapter 3

And what he said next blew my mind... And my family away...

Jai: "Actually, Yoni seems like a beautiful and funny person that anybody would love to have in their lives. When I saw her at the mall, I knew she was different from all the people I've had in my life in New Orleans. So to answer ya question, yes. I do hope to keep her in my life and get to knew this amazing soul. Along with her family of course." At this point all of there mouths where at the ground by what he said. So you could imagine how I felt. My facial cheeks burned of a dark red. But since I'm brown skinned, you probably couldn't tell. We stood looking at him for a decent 2 minutes before he cleared his thought and brought us back from our gaze. And Ricky being the over protective father figure he is to me, he surprisingly got up and gave Jai a hug. In the back of my mind, I want to be happy about this but I'm also thinking WHAT IN THE FLYING FUCK IS GOING ON HERE!? Then Ricky said

Ricky: "Man I really like you Jai, you have permission to be my daughters friend." He said in a jokingly manner. We all laughed.
Mom: "Jai I think you will be a pleasure to have around these parks and Yoni you better not break his heart." Oh God.
Bam: "Yea Yoni, don't do anything to hurt him. Well I got to go guys. I gotta work tomorrow so bye love you. Bye Jai." With that she got into her car and left. My mom wanted to go in the house to finish her movie she was watching with Ricky.
Mom: "Hey Yoni if you wanna stay and talk to Jai for a little bit you can. We'll just leave Reko and bring him in when you are." And they left us there.

I was a little scared but then I suggested to sit on the porch. He agreed and we started to talk.

Jai POV

She asked my a question which I knew she would ask.

Yoni: "Hey Jai did you really mean all of that stuff you said about getting to know me?"

Oh boy I wish she knew how much I did mean it. Jai stop, you know you weren't suppose to say it in the first place. Just be cool.

Me: "Ya Yoni, you should've already knew that. I meant every word."

I got caught in her beautiful brown eyes and stared at her. Till she snapped me out of it.

Yoni: "Um Jai, you good bruh? You staring."
Me: "Oh yea, I'm fine babe." Dang, why would I say babe? She must think I like her now. I can't help it, I do.
Yoni: "Babe? Ok so you like to do that too?" She just confused the hell out of me. She could tell and started to explain.
Yoni: "OK its like when you call your best friend bae n shit but it doesn't mean anything. Its just for fun."
Me: "Oh ok see we ain't have that in NO. But I'm willing to try it out but I do have a question." Almost like she read my mind, she answered it before I even asked.
Yoni: "Yea we can kiss if you'd like just not a make out thing, you might catch feelings for my lips." She laughed, God she had the funniest laugh. In a good way and it could brighten anyones day. I laughed along with her and she stopped.

Me: "What's wrong bae?" I like calling her bae, it feels good.
Yoni: "Nothing, its stupid." She blushed, what I do?
Me: "Come on don't lie. Ya blushin."
Yoni: "Well its two things. 1 your laugh is really cute and 2, you called me bae. I know we said we were going to do that but I like the way you say it." She looked down in shame. But I lifted her head up.
Me: "Its no big, and that's like the third time I made you blush today. Is that regular, cuz its really cute." She did it again and I kissed her cheek.

Right at that moment my mom came looking for me. It was getting late. And I had to unpack my room's stuff. We've been talking for a decent hour. But it didn't even feel like time went bye. Like it all stopped with her. Sadly I had to go, but she said that I could come over and come in tomorrow, so you know I'm happy that I'll be seeing her again. Even if she does live just next door. It feels like a lifetime if I'm away from her. She's the only good thing that happened to me in a long while. I just don't wanna loose her. We hugged and she took her dog and went inside. I saw her do a little celebratory dance behind the glass door curtain. I shook my head and went to my new home. Knowing that this summer will be the best time of my life.
