Large bright amber eyes shone out in the darkness and scanned over the spacious area of the farm, a decently large figure proceeded to stealthily make it's way past the occupied home of its unsuspecting occupants as it drew itself closer to the barn empty of human presence, almost effortlessly taking care not to make a sound and alert the nearby folk of its presence.

Despite the wooden door being in exceptional condition it was surprisingly easy to open for the creature, 'Foolish humans'  it thought to itself. It questioned whether or not the people who owned this land were of any intelligence seeing as it was such easy access for such a creature.

The majority of its residents were already long asleep, ohh what easy targets they made...

The light of the moon giving off a luminous glow just about showed the outline of the large beast, its eyes skim over the sleeping animals that lay rest inside.

It knew around this time birthing season would be soon, surely one of the animals here would be more vunerable and the cruel creature would find happiness in a bonus snack.

It wouldn't have to return for another few days if it find just the right target to prey on.

Its bright amber eyes stopped on a large Ewe, stomach showing an obvious bulge. It lay there asleep, for some reason it was distant from the other members of its kind. The poor unsuspecting animal had no idea that a simple thing such as a little distance could be so fatal, it felt perfectly safe in the barn.

The beast silently sauntered over to the sleeping animal, its sharp, pointed fangs found their way around the Ewe's neck.

It let released a loud screech (or whatever) that alerted the barns other animals of it's presence, with being suddenly woke up and seeing a predator near by the they let out a series of loud cries of panic and fear.

It was a surprise that the people inside the house didn't hear a thing. What were they doing?

The beast bit down quickly, crushing the wind pipes of the poor ewe. It didn't want to deal with it's constant struggling, the cries of the other animals set it in to a mode that basically said 'Hurry up before the humans find out while i'm still here.' It's not like it couldn't handle humans, it'd just rather not deal with them.

Its powerful jaws tightly gripped the ewe as it began to effortlessly drag its body out of the barn, a few droplets of blood fell to the floor, smearing as the sheeps body was dragged across them.

It started making its way from of the farm, waking up the two Border Collie's that were sleeping outside. It sent the two a warning growl, making sure that they knew their place, it wasn't interested in eating dogs but threatened to kill them if they dare made a sound. They were just about a year old, still young.

Of course they would listen..

It made its way back to the nearby woods, the limp ewe still in its hold. The beast drew itself closer to the deepest part of the woods, from there the moonlight had almost been completely blocked out, just barely did a few stripes of light make it through small gaps in the tree's.

It continued on till it reached were the overgrowth was at its thickest, the only sound heard was that of the beast walking through it, and the oddly eerily sounding small gusts of wind. It stopped near a large bolder before dropping the ewe and starting to feast on it.

It violently pulled off bits of flesh and enthusiastically ate to its hearts content. It felt the need to act like this, it told any other woodland creatures who's boss and that the merciless creature would not hesitate to do the same to them.

It ate just over half the ewe, and somewhat buried it in the thick overgrowth before faintly scent-marking it. It knew that the other predators in the forest wouldn't dare go near it, out of fear of being brutally hunted down and meeting their end at the horrible beasts jaws. It brought itself to a small cliff, mouth covered in blood from its earlier meal, it let some of it fall to the floor before cleaning itself up.

The moon still had its luminous glow, although its position in the sky had changed slightly and the glow had begun to fade slowly.

It's gentle light spread over the woodland making it look like a rather peaceful place.

The night-time wind gently blew on the beast, it's fur slightly moving because of it, it stood with pride and rose its head upwards to the sky. It's bright amber eyes seemed to shine with the moon, giving the beast an almost majestic look.

It's eyes focused on the moon, it started at it with... adoration? before it released a deafening howl, stopping any nocturnal woodland animal in their tracks and disturbing the others from their peaceful slumber.

For some reason it felt powerful when it did this, and it knew it was. Most other living creatures were terrified of it, it considered itself somewhat of a ruler in the forest.

And boy did it like that feeling.

It took one last look at the sky before returning to the depths of the woods, morning would be coming soon and it'd rather spend the day sleeping.
