Your mind went blank.

Blood? Where did that come from?

It certainly wasn't yours, you weren't injured. You even checked, so....

Wait....

Your eyes shifted to that strange fuzzy spot that you touched. You had almost completely forgotten about it once you saw the blood.

How could you nearly forget such a thing? Touching a fuzzy yet wet thing that almost felt like it was breathing...

Breathing!? Whatever you had touched was breathing!?

No...random unidentified fuzzy things don't breathe. Wait, what was this unidentified thing?

You went to inspect the strange thing but then Rocket started growling again. "Rocket! Shhh! I'm identifying the unidentified."

His growl turned into a low whine and he lowered his head slightly as if saying "But-...fine...." Sherry just sat there watching.

You began to sweep away any fallen leaves and other things which appeared to be covering whatever this was with your hands, it didn't help that the grass here was a little on the tall side either. The first thing you noticed was that the bloody spot appeared to look like flesh, it seemed like it had been torn or slashed at. There were signs of a possibly growing infection.

"So I know that this is a living creature, probably been like this for a while.... "

As you moved more and more plant substances away you were soon able to make out shapes, the bloody spot looked like it belonged to that of a leg; Shaped similarly to a dogs, a fluffy tail not far behind.

You cleared off the other half soon after and once fully able to make out what it was you gasped.

A wolf.

A wolf? What in the world was it doing here? You had heard of them living in the country but they always avoided wandering into human territory. You weren't scared like most people would be, and you certainly weren't going to run away.

1. It was injured, 2. Even if it wasn't, running or any sudden movements would only trigger its natural instinct to chase you.

Then again there's a chance that wouldn't make much difference.

So what do you do?

Your eyes scanned its body up and down, you took note of its gray fur which was lighter around its eyes, snout and chest.

An 'X' shaped scar was visible on its furry chest and the wolf itself gave off a strange feel. Although you'd never seen a real wolf till now something about this one felt different from what you were expecting.

"Hmm..." You stood there glancing down at the injured creature, lost in thought for a small period of time.

"Rocket, Sherry. Stay." The two stared up at you, almost looking like they were protesting "Stay here? W-with this?!"

"Stay." You knew they weren't going to disobey you, although they were looking at you like you were mad they'd still follow your command. "Relax, i'll be back in a bit." you said before running off, leaving the two dogs alone with the wolf.

~

You ran all the way home, the distance between your favourite tree and your house was actually decently large.

You walked in through the front door with a slight pant and began to make your way to one of the small cupboards.

"(y/n), what are you doing here? I thought you went to the fruit tree's." Your mother interrupted your small trail of thoughts.

"O-oh hey mom, I just forgot something that's all. I'm going back in a sec." She opened her mouth to say something but you interrupted her. "It might just be me but I think I smell something burning, and don't you have to go check the chickens?"

"Oh my, oh my!?" you heard her say loudly as she rushed past you.

You quickly fumbled with the contents of the cupboard, eyes skimming over everything in sight.

"I can't use this on an animal, can I? I'll take it anyway, should be fine and this is for cuts I should be able to use this on larger wounds right?"

You hastily picked up some bandages and some cream that was good for cuts along with some other stuff that you thought you might need, taking care not to drop anything and alert your mother that you were up to something.

She'd ask to many questions if she caught you making off with such things, and there's a chance you'd get in trouble if she'd found out what it was for. You shuddered slightly at the thought of the angry mom.

You fixed things back to the way the were and tried your best to make it appear like nothing was missing, before slowly

opening the door and silently making your way out. You ran off in the direction of the fruit tree's, hiding the stuff you held in your arms.

~

"I told ya I'd be back guys!" You said somewhat quietly. The two dogs looked a little relived but were still questioning what you were planning to do.

"Okay. I have no idea why i'm doing this..." You crouched down to the level of the currently unconscious wolf and turned your

gaze to it's hind leg. "Sooo how do I do this? I just put this on then cover it up right? Uhh..."

You covered up one hand with a thin plastic glove and placed the cream on the edges of the wound, you were hesitant at first but quickly got over it and focused on the task at hand. You then gently dabbed some other stuff on the wound itself.

The wolf flinched slightly but remained in it's unconscious state.

You had to work quickly, it was showing signs of possibly waking up soon.

You carefully lifted up its leg slightly and began to wrap the bandages you had gotten around the wound. The wolf started to stir.

uh oh.

You hastily made sure that the wound was covered then tightened it slightly. Your work was sloppy but it was good enough to make sure nothing fell off. "I guess that's okay for my first attempt...Right guys?"

Rocket stared up at you and gave you a look that said you "!?tch, you crazy. Why would you do that?

You laughed "I can't see an injured creature and just ignore it!"

"Now what do I do?"

Before you could do anything you were interrupted by a low, aggressive growl. Your head turned and your eyes locked with a pair of yellow ones.

He was awake.
