***DEAN***
It had been three months since Alex disappeared and Sam and I are crumbling. We keep thinking we see her during our hunts cheering us on. When we'd look over after the sucker was finished it would be a coat rack or a pole or in one instance, a fire extinguisher. Maybe we were seeing things from the lack of sleep. Or just the overwhelming fact that she was gone. Sam was having the same problems.
"Come on Sam. Let's go home." I say and get into baby solemnly. This was another dead end to Alex. We had been searching and searching while hunting down bastards along the way. He followed me and we started to pull out of an abandoned house not too far from the motel where Alex left Sam with a beer and me with a broken heart.
We headed over to the motel and grabbed our stuff and left. It was hours until we reached out next spot. Some small town in Ohio. We pulled into the motel after checking in and I was unlocking the door when I heard Sam let out a small gasp. I looked up at him and then in the same direction.
My eyes couldn't believe what they were seeing. It was Alex. Walking towards us. I dropped the keys and ran over to her. I stopped dead in my tracks halfway. Her eyes were black. And I don't mean her pupil or iris. They were ALL BLACK. And she had a gun pointed to my head.
"Sam and Dean Winchester." That thing said. I started backing up and nudged Sam. He nodded and bolted into the room grabbing salt and a can of paint from our bags. I've never seen him work so fast before. I led 'Alex' Into our room and walked right over the devil's trap. She followed me and stopped in the middle.
"Damn it Sam, what are we gonna do now? The only way we can save her is by ending her life. With the colt." I told him and reached for it out of the duffel. Sam stopped me.
"No, We can exorcise her. She doesn't look beaten up. Or anything at all... She looks okay." Sam reached for our father's exorcism book and opened it up. He kept flipping through the pages until he found the right one. He started speaking and I just looked at alex. Funny, First time we met was with her choking to death with a demon. Now i'm saving her from one.
She stared back at me and smiled. "Lilith sent me. She has a present." She aimed the gun at her leg. "Alex wont make it." She pulled the trigger as black smoke started pouring out of her mouth. Sam kept reading as I watched. When the final amount of black smoke left her and she fell to the ground I ran over to her and held her in my arms and pulled off my jacked and ripped off one of my sleeves. I quickly wrapped it above the wound and applied pressure.
Sam ran over with the first aid. Before we knew it ALex was groaning with pain. We had had her wrapped up and laid on one of the beds. I was sitting across from her on the other one anxiously waiting for her to wake up. Sam walked out to the motel manager to tell her that they had the TV up too loud and turned it off as soon as they heard the gunshot. Bunch of bullshit if you ask me.
All I cared about was Alex. Sam came in a minute later and checked her heartbeat. I just kept staring. Stubble brought up for both of us the beginnings of a beard. Sam tried to keep his trimmed but i didn't care as long as Alex was out there. I sighed and looked away for a second. We had to cut one leg of her jeans off to see where it was coming from. I heard someone groan and my head snapped back.
***ALEX***
I woke up with two fingers pressed against my neck. I groaned and moved my hands to my leg. I don't know what happened but it hurts like hell. I felt the fingers move away and I opened my eyes slowly. "D...Dean" I muttered. As my eyes adjusted I saw Sam above me smiling. "Sam?" I sat up and winced with the amount of pain I felt. It felt like blowing my brains out all over again. I looked over to see a stubbly, but smiling Dean. I smiled back and reached my hand out to touch his. He grabbed it and smiled wider. I don't think i've ever seen him this happy.
Even over a piece of pie.
