Sakura's POV

Breathe in. Breathe out.

I repeat over and over as I drag myself into the bar. There is no turning back now. This is for your best friend okay? My inner tells me.

My grip on the small box tightens as I get closer to my friends. I can see them a bit from the curtains. They seem to be enjoying the night.

I see Naruto having a talk with Hinata with his arm draped around her, Ino and Sai so close that they might make out any moment, Shino and Kiba feeding Akamaru some grapes, Tenten watching the crowd go wild, and Sasuke slowly dropping his champagne glass as he sees me.

I breathe in and pretend he is not around. Everyone looked at my direction when I move the curtains to the side. I try hard to look happy.

"Hey guys!" I greet almost exaggeratedly, just to hide what I really feel inside.

They welcome me warmer than I expect them to. Ino grins as she grabs her birthday present from me.

"Aww thanks Sak. I really thought you forgot about my birthday" she says. I try not to laugh.

"Of course not. How could I forget about you, pig?" I say, hoping she would believe me.

Thankfully, she did.

Meanwhile, Naruto and Hinata starts conversing with me. I ask about their relationship now that they seem really happy. On top of it all, I am hiding my envy because they look so good together.

"I plan on telling Hinata's dad tomorrow night!" Naruto says in excitement. Although I think Hiashi-san already heard that his daughter is going out with the village's hero.

"I think Hinata's dad already knows, Naruto" I tell him while scratching my jawline. Naruto smiles and then looks at his girlfriend. "I will let him know formally then" he says while looking in her eyes. Hinata blushes and smiles as well.

Too cheesy. I shook my head and turn to my other friends. All of them are sipping on their drinks except me. I scan the table for some drinks, but I don't see any. I look at Ino, who is already making out with Sai. That didn't stop me from asking though.

"Hey, Pig! Where are the drinks?"

It took a few seconds before she answered, "Go get some from the bartender" and then tossed me some kind of ticket. I then head to where the bartender is and think about what I should get to forget about everything about Sasuke.

The thing is, I don't want to get really drunk because bad things could happen. I know it's ridiculous because if I want to forget about him even just for tonight, I should drink till I lose my sanity. I'm also not a drinker. I mean, I'm only turning 19 next March so I don't have enough experience with the drinking stuff.

I rest my arms on the bar as I look at the drinks available and analyze what drink could be a little softer for me. That's when someone poked my left shoulder. Some random guy did.

I raise my eyebrows at him somehow nicely.

"Hey, would you like me to buy you a drink?" he asks. His rather full lips forming a smile. I study him very quickly. His face is not bad and his body too. His hair is messy but he still looks good. I've never seen him anywhere in town though. He must be from another village.

I snort. "And why would you do that?"

He smirks like he's trying not to laugh. "Because I like treating pretty ladies"

I shake my head with a stupid smile. "Are you trying to flirt with me?"

He then steps closer and flashes his intense eyes against mine.

"I guess I am. I would like to know what you're going to do about it though" he says, his voice is lower and husky. That's when I sense a very familiar chakra getting closer. I smirk. Maybe I could flirt for a while.

Sasuke's POV

I am trying to do everything I can not to seem creepy by staring at her. So instead of staring, I glance at her from time to time. She looks so beautiful tonight, no, she is stunning. Red fits her perfectly.

After interrupting her best friend's make-out session with Sai, she gets the ticket and makes her way to the bar. My feet are becoming restless. I feel the need to follow her. This is maybe because she hadn't bothered greeting me like she did with everyone, or because she hadn't talked to me at all for weeks. After letting some moments pass, I bring my glass with me and follow her.

She is now talking to a guy I don't know. I see her  giggle twice, making the guy smirk even more. He then steps closer to her, resting his elbow on the counter. He told her something that made her smirk. All his flirting seems to work. How could Sakura not notice his flirting?

I take I sip from my drink as I watch her flirt back. Unless you didn't notice, I'm trying to focus on calming down. She gets terribly closer this time, at least in my perspective. As if on cue, a waiter passes by with a tray. I put my now empty drink with one of the tickets Ino gave us and get another one. My feet automatically start to walk towards them. I hear their conversation getting clear as I get closer.

"As much as I would like to flirt with you," Sakura starts.

"I'm afraid she has a boyfriend with her just getting her a nice glass of vodka" I cut her off then hand her the drink. The guy opens his mouth to talk but I didn't let him start. I get hold of Sakura's wrist and take her with me outside in a rather fast pace. She tries to yank her wrist away but my hold is too firm. I just couldn't let her flirt with that guy again, or with anyone in general.

I just want her for myself.
