"You will come back." the voice echoed. It sounded evil, and untrustworthy. "You cannot stay away."
"I saved you and what did I get in return?" another voice asked despairingly, sending immense pain through (Name)'s skull. "A knife in the back, and a gutted throat?!!" the voice continued, shouting now, becoming angry.
"Kian..." (Name) called, his voice shaking. "You have to understand... I didn't want to..."
"But you did, didn't you?" Kian asked, unforgiving.
"And now you have to come back." Kian's voice said, joined by the deeper, ominous and evil voice.
"You can't hide forever." they said in unison.

"Wake up!!" Yang shouted into Ruby's ear, with no response. Yang growled while tapping her foot angrily on the floor.
Ruby's bed was suspended from the ceiling as usual, but held two occupants. Ash slept soundly on the bed, and Ruby was piled on top of him, her head resting on Ash's chest. Her short black, red tinted hair spilled out around her, forming a sort of halo. Whenever Ash breathed in, Ruby's head would rise, and when his chest deflated again, Ruby would nuzzle her head into Ash, much like a sleeping kitten. Her hands rested on his chest too, making her arms surround her head. Their four legs intermingled below them, having been tangled up sometime in the night.
"We're going to be late to class!" Weiss shouted, stamping a foot. "Combat training starts in seven minutes!"
In a desperate attempt to wake the two deep sleepers up, Yang yanked the blanket out from beneath them, causing Ruby and Ash to tumble on to the floor. They sat up in a daze, their eyes looking drowsily around the room.
"What the hell were you two doing last night?? And why were you in the same bed?" Weiss asked, pacing in front of them.
Ruby touched her head tenderly, massaging her temples. "I don't remember..." she said sluggishly. "It's kinda fuzzy." Ruby looked at Ash, hoping he'd have something to say. Ash racked his brain, trying to come up with something, but shrugged in the end, not remembering anything.
Ruby herself remembered something soft, and warm... But she couldn't quite place what it had been. She decided not to talk about, knowing that 'soft and warm' wasn't really an answer.
"Whatever, we need to get to class NOW." Yang instructed, pointing towards the door. Seeing the time on the clock, Ruby put on her uniform using her semblance, with a sudden burst of energy.
"Let's go!" she shouted, racing out the door.
"You heard her." Yang said, nodding towards the door. The rest of the team ran out of the room, chasing after Ruby.

Team RWBY burst through the classroom doors, spilling into the amphitheater like room at full speed.
"Team RWBY." Ms. Goodwitch commented, fixing her glasses on her nose. "You were almost late."
"Sorry, it won't happen again..." Yang apologized, breathing heavily.
"Well, since you're here; Ash, would you mind stepping into the arena?" Ms. Goodwitch asked, viewing Ash with bright green eyes. Ash nodded, and stepped into the arena, slowly walking himself to the center.
"Hey..." Yang started, raising her hand. "Ash is still injured from yesterday."
"I understand." Ms. Goodwitch said, her green eyes locking with Yang's. "I won't push him too hard, I just want him to demonstrate some things. Ready Ash?" she asked, turning to the student in the arena. Ash nodded, and she continued with the lesson.
"That's Ash?" students mumbled, locking eyes on him. "He's hot..." a few whispered. "I thought he'd be older."
"Today we will learn more about Auras." Ms. Goodwitch broadcasted loudly. "As Mr. Arc, and Mr. Winchester showed us the other day, an Aura is a defensive field around your body."
"Um..." Ash called quietly, raising his hand. "I don't have an aura."
Ms. Goodwitch looked at him, fixing her glasses on her face. "Is that so? Does that mean you don't have a semblance either?"
"No..." Ash responded, rubbing his arm. "I have a semblance... I'd rather not talk about it though."
"What about your weapons? I've heard you can make them out of thin air. Isn't that your semblance?" Ms. Goodwitch pressed, walking to the edge of the bleachers in the room, and looking down into the arena.
"No, I've always been able to do that." Ash said, returning her gaze.
"Hmmmm." Ms. Goodwitch hummed, thinking. "Then show us your skill with that for now I suppose." she finished, tapping on the scroll in her hands. The scroll was a small metal bar, that opened into a datapad, providing information, and many other things.
Ash extended an arm, and black dust seemed to materialize in the air. It circled around his hand, and quickly assembled a crude spear, with a wicked point on the end. "Well done." Ms. Goodwitch complemented. "Have you ever thought of assembling anything besides a weapon?" she asked, making Ash bite his lip, puzzled.
"No." he said, raising his hands again. "I'll try it."
The dust collected on the ground, slowly building a large structure. Ash shuddered, as if in pain, and stumbled backwards, but kept building the object.
The object, started with a rectangular base, and then limbs seemed to extend from it, curling into the air like thorns. Ms. Goodwitch's eyes widened as she saw the object begin to take form. It became a ring, with multiple offshoots that resembled thorns on vines in a deep jungle. It curled backwards, collecting more dust, and creating a small tunnel. While she wanted to see more, she heard students shouting at her.
"Stop! It's hurting him!" Blake shouted, running up to Ms. Goodwitch. The teacher looked at Ash, who was sweating, and had fallen into one knee. He grit his teeth, and moaned, trying desperately to hold in screams. A small stream of blood poured from the corner of his mouth, and his eyes were wide, uncertain and scared.
Ash fell over, breathing heavily, and the structure he was creating fell over, collapsing into a black puddle on the floor. Team RWBY ran into the arena, crowding around him.
"Ash!" Yang shouted, kneeling and flipping him over. She placed his head in her lap, and searched his eyes with concern. "You alright?"
Ash nodded, cupping his head with one hand. "Dizzy." he simply said, closing his eyes.
"Guys..." Weiss said, alarmed. "You'll probably want to see this."
The girls looked behind them, and saw shapes forming and rising out of the black puddle Ash had formed. Grimm rose out of the puddle, forming white masks and gleaming red eyes. Ruby, Weiss, and Blake each assumed a defensive stance, protecting Yang and Ash behind them. Their actions proved necessary however, as Ms. Goodwitch entered the arena and quickly crushed the oncoming Grimm using her telekinesis semblance. "Class is dismissed for today." she said sternly, glancing around at the students watching the scene unfold in the arena. "Keep yourselves ready for the field trip tomorrow." she added.
Ms. Goodwitch turned her attention back to team RWBY, looking worried. "Look after him." she instructed, nodding to Ash on the floor. "I have something I must verify." She walked away, her heels clicking gently on the hard floor.
"S-sorry..." Ash strained, opening his eyes, and rolling his head in Yang's lap to look at the girls around him. "I caused you trouble..."
Yang smirked, gently placing a hand on the boy's head and ruffling his (h/c) and black hair. He closed his eyes momentarily, shying away from the hand, but gradually relaxed, accepting the motion. "You didn't do anything wrong." she said, looking him in the eyes. "Just rest for as long as you need Ash."
"My name is (Name)." Ash said, surprising Yang. "I-If..." Ash stuttered, seeming embarrassed. "If you wouldn't mind using my real name..."
Yang glanced at the girls around him, who all smiled and nodded. "Sure," Yang agreed, grinning and returning her attention to Ash. "(Name)."
