Chapter 5: Sawyer

Shane's pov

Joeys was good at languages, he always helped me because I didn't listen to the teacher because I may or may not have been looking at how perfect the light made Joeys eyes a perfect shade of green and how his teeth are pure white...

I managed to do all of the work being the second person to finish in class... with Joey being the first. I was glad Sawyer and his 'gang' wasn't in special ed, they were mainly in top set because they always got the nerds to do their homework. Joey had to spend all day in special ed classes except for gym, I wish I wasn't in some of the bottom sets. I wanted to spend more time getting to know Joey.

Third lesson... Technology: Iron work, set 4. I had to sit on a table with Lisa, Sawyer and Luke... Urgh... they were talking about Joey, if they bully him because of me... I'll kill myself... he doesn't deserve it, he's perfect. I wish I could of said something, instead I was deep in thought 'Yeah I am gay, yeah I like guys... And sometime everyone will know... I like... wait... no, love Joey.

Joey's pov

I was in special ed all day except for gym, I've always been amazing at gym, I see Meghan at the other side of the hall with Lisa. I've learned a lot about her, she likes anime and her boyfriend is really sweet. She invited me to her house to watch anime but she might be with her boyfriend tonight.

Meghan: I'll tell you at lunch!

Joey: Okay see you soon!

I might tell her today... No I'm not ready... I'll tell Shane

*After a bit*

It was lunch. Meghan and Lisa sat with me and Shane. We were all talking. Then I see a guy, he walks over to Shane, Shane mumbles something under his breath.

Shane: Oh no... Lisa, its Sawyer.

Lisa: Omg Shane, try not to talk to him or make eye contact!

Shane: Sawyers gonna beat me up... again.

Sawyer was the one that Shane was looking for on the bus... it all makes sense now. No one's gonna touch my Shane... He's not mine but I don't care. Sawyers already done this? I feel so sorry for him! there's nothing wrong with him... He has perfect eyes and is naturally funny. I love him. I'll do it for him...

Joey: Sawyer!

Sawyer: What?

Joey: Do you bully Shane?

Sawyer: Yeh *starts laughing* what you gonna do 'bout it?

Joey: This...

I got up and walked over to him, really close, I made eye contact with him. I made a fist with my hand and punched him somewhere on his face, I turned around and walked back to Shane and sat down.

Shane: Thanks... But why?

Joey: I don't like seeing my friends... in pain... I guess.

We all started laughing.

Sawyer: I'll get you back, new kid... Watch out!

Sawyer ran out of the room with tears in his eyes.

We started laughing harder because of Sawyer. I was glad I could help him, I didn't want him to get bullied at school like I did...
