BLOOD RED!

I could feel a pair of eyes boring into me as I kept walking and biting my nails off "would you stop staring at me already its creepy and really uncomfortable!" I snapped at Alejandra "well if you would stop walking a hole into the ground and trying to eat your fingers in the process ,maybe I wouldn't stare so much !" She retorted . I slumped into one of the chairs with a sigh of defeat and exhaustion "Alex ,what do I do? Its gonna be like all those  years ago again , I can't stand the pain of seeing his face again, I mean the fundraiser... That's so him...he knows I will show up that might give him the upper hand ....it's his party and I can't create a scene or duck and hide... Too many prospective  clients!" "Not to mention hot guys " She said,then  stood up and came to my side laying a comforting hand on my shoulder "look  lia , I really don't know what to tell you apart from try as much as possible to forget about it ...when you get to that bridge you'll cross it ...I guess....its eight pm you should be sleeping not worrying over nothing "  a sympathetic look crossing her features," but that's just the angel on my right shoulder talking , personally I say go to the damned party and have some much needed fun, show him that you are not at all affected by the mind games he's been playing."  A small smile tugged him on my lips , I could always count on Alex to make me smile through anything.  but nicks face came to mind again and  I frowned again..Alex seeing my frown, mirrored my expression and asked "what's the matter now?"  I don't know how to digest this news ...I mean I risked my heart falling for this man ,and the better part of the last five years immersing myself into work to forget about him , and now that I am finally getting a sense of peace and for my aching heart he comes back to turn my world on its end again!" I cried in exasperation ,taking a deep calming breath,"thanks Alex I just needed to vent for a while ,you should go rest ,I'll think of something .kay?  You can   have the rest of the day off tomorrow ...I just need to get my head in the game  "she cast a worried look in my direction , and I smiled at her and shooed her out the door " don't worry so much I'll call you if I need help , go have your rest . bye !" I called after her as she stepped into the elevator.  With a sigh I closed my door and leaned against it,i climbed the stairs leading to my room trying to dispel the negative thoughts ,I placed a hand to my head and shook it In annoyance as the memories came flooding back .

     FIVE YEARS AGO

I groaned in mock despair as I heard the bell chime again notifying me that another costumer just walked in ,and knowing mehgan(,my co worker ),she wasn't coming out any time soon from lala  land, at least not while she was on the phone so I begrudgingly approached the table and schooled my features , if only to hide my displeasure . I got to the table quicker than I would have liked and got ready to recite the usual "welcome to Martie's what would you like  to have?" With a practiced smile on my face .the thought of it alone sent shudders down my back .but no sooner had I started the spiel when the words died on my tounge . he was the most beautiful male specimen I had ever seen , not that I had seen many by the way,   he looked like  a Greek god with his defined cheek bones and olive toned skin, his voice as he rattled away in rapid Spanish  I nearly swooned ,but I caught my self just in time to see him staring at me intently with his steely grey eyes that could keep one enraptured his lips lifted in a smile as he took in my form. I have to admit , I was really not anything special to look at ,just plain old me , short brown hair and freckles on my face ...and I definitely was not a size zero so I was more than a little bit embarrassed when the stranger asked for my name
I blushed and whispered"Amelia brownstone " he smiled and kissed My Outstretched arm , i felt tingles shoot up my arm and I hastily pulled it back "what would you like sir ?" I said in a shaky voice , he just smirked and  said "YOU".

FLASHBACK OVER
     I snapped out to f my reverie and looked at my reflection in my mirror" you are not the Amelia he once knew , you are strong ,you are bold and you are going to make him and his blasted family pay !" With that I laid on my bed  with a satisfied smile and drifted off to dreams about plans and plots and  and a particular man with steely grey eyes that made my blood boil in anger!.
