Muscles tense, his hands were shaking, his heart was racing, beads of sweat rolling down his forehead, he could hear his heartbeat in his ears, he had chills running up from his forearms to his neck. This happened sometimes and Josh would always notice when Tyler got too intense or the lyrics of a song hit him too hard, Josh would always be there. Josh would be there to catch Tyler when he fell, figuratively or literally. This was no different. Tyler had put his heart and soul into Addict with a pen during a rehearsal. Josh waited for the next song to begin but something felt wrong, he turned to see Tyler clutching the sides of the piano. It all happened instantaneously, Josh stood and in 3 quick steps was hugging Tyler. Tyler's head slumped against Josh's shoulder his arms holding him as tightly as possible. Josh held Tyler just as tight. He could feel a dampness on his shoulder, he didn't know whether it was sweat or tears but he didn't care. All that mattered to him at that moment Tyler. He felt Tyler's breath return to normal but neither of them moved. Josh shifted his head so he was face to face with Tyler. They didn't look at each other but they didn't need to, they had already memorized everything about each other from the small scar Josh had right below the middle of his bottom lip to the fact that Tyler's ears came to a tiny point at the top. Josh pressed his lips to Tyler's forehead, Tyler sighed. This always happened, it wasn't never quite a kiss but Tyler always understood what he meant to him when Josh did that.

"Thank you" Tyler whispered,

Usually, Josh would just hold Tyler tighter, he never responded because he didn't know what to say, there was nothing he could say that would describe what Tyler gave him. This time was different Josh felt like he needed to reassure Tyler, to tell him what he had thought thousands of times ,but never said. Josh never said it because he was scared, not scared that Tyler would reject him because he knew he wouldn't, Josh was scared to hear what his voice sounded like when he said those three words to someone who didn't just want to hear them, but needed and deserved to.

"I love you" Josh whispered and he felt the weight of the world lift off his shoulder, as he rested his head on Tyler's.
