Tokyo Mew Mew 2; Broken Hearts *OLD*

Chapter 6

Cream POV.

We followed the destruction of the city, Pudding leading the way. Soon enough, noises of people screaming, along with some building pieces flying everywhere. "Whoa..." Minto mumbled. "That's a lot of broken buildings..."

'And a broken heart...' I thought.

I started jumping on top of buildings. "Cream, what are you doing?" Ichigo yelled. "We can get a better view of Kauai and Maple!" I replied. I finally got to the top, the sound of bouncing Mew Mews followed. I looked over the vast city, and saw Kauai. He was near the tallest building with a weird pointy thing coming out of the end. Something was at the top. 'Maple?" I thought hopefully.

I started jumping across building to building. 'Were coming, Maple!' I thought.

Kauai was smashing near by buildings with fists about the same size as me, people screaming below, dodging his stomping feet. "Minto!" I yelled. "You need to distract Kauai!" She nodded, and flew to Kauai. "Hey, feather-brain!" She teased. "Missed me!" A huge fist almost hit Minto by a hair. "Is that the best you can do? Pathetic!" Kauai snarled. "Come back, bird-brain!" He yelled, and stomped after Minto.

Taking my chance, I jumped to where Maple was tied. She was in normal form, with her cat ears and tail pocking. A huge metal bar tied her to the top of the building. She slowly lifted her head. I saw blood in her long, golden hair. "C-Cre-Cream...." She said weakly. "Don't worry, i'm gonna get you out of here!" I said, tugging on the tick metal bars. Useless.

I heard the squeals of my friends I. The background, fighting Kauai. "Guess Kauai is turning bad, huh?" I said. "No...." Maple said.

I stopped my tugging, and looked at her. "What?" I asked, surprised. "He just broke so many bones in your body, kidnapped you, got you in danger, and your saying he's not....bad?!"

She did a weak smile. "All he's ever wanted was a true love.....but I'm not that love....." She breathed harder. "Okay, okay! Just stay calm, and you'll be fine."

I stepped away, having an idea.

"Cloud staff!" I yelled. My weapon appeared.

"Robbin.....FLASH!!" I yelled, pointing at the metal bars. The clouds broke the bars, which clattered at the ground. I looked at Maple, who was slowly falling to the ground. I ran over to her, and held her in my arms. "Maple!" She was taking slow, deep breaths. One of her cat ears flicked, but she was still. I stood up, and raced over the buildings that managed to survive.

I heard a familiar voice..."Cream! Maple!" 'Daiki! Not now...' I thought. I looked down. Daiki was wondering the streets, yelling out Maple and my name.

I leaped down to him. "Is this her?" I asked him. "Your friend?"

"Maple!" Daiki said, quickly takin her out of my arms. "Thank yo...." I was already gone.

Maple POV.

I slowly opened my eyes. "D-Daiki?" I whispered.

All of my body ached, and I felt sticky liquid spilling out of my arm. Blood. "We need to get you to a hospital!" He said.

I heard an angry roar. 'Kauai...' I thought. 'He knows I'm gone!' I wanted to tell Daiki to run, hide, just leave me behind! But I could barley keep my eyes opened. I heard foot steps coming hear.

"You!" Kauai's voice screamed. "You will DIE for ever loving her!"

I couldn't move, I felt like I couldn't breath. 'No! Don't fight! Theirs been too much fighting! Please!' I thought desperately. I felt Daiki turn, and run. Kauai's foot steps followed, only at a walk. I heard Daiki gasp as he was lifted in the air, along with me.

"Let go!" Daiki said, holding on tight to me. "If you say so!" Kauai said, and dropped him, along with me.

Time slowed down, and I could see Daiki, his face, the look of terroir. He tried to grab me, but I was too far out of reach. I looked up at Kauai, and tried to send him a message. 'How could you...' I thought.

Kauai POV.

I watched him fall, and smirked. 'He deserves to die!' I thought I than looked at Maple, and saw something. 'How could you....' Those blue eyes seemed to tell me. 'I thought you were different...and that we could leave this behind.'

'Your far too important in my life, Maple!' I thought back. 'I couldn't just forget about our life we could have together!'

She looked at me with frightful eyes. 'You hurt my friends, and Tokyo. You hurt the Café, and Daiki. I no longer see Kauai. I don't see Kakudo either. I only see.....a monster....'

Those words echoed in my mind, and my eyes widened. 'A monster....'

I thought of she I had gotten so mad at my family, as the flash back happened.

"How could you!!" I screamed. "You hate me, and you always will!" I had stormed off. "Kauai!" I heard my parents yell in protest. I remember, I had snuck into their room, and had killed them. My fathers last words..."Kauai, no matter what....." He chocked. "I'll always love.....you....." 'Idont care!' I had thought. 'You never cared!!' After what was done, I had realized....I had murdered my own parents.

I roamed the streets, trying to survive. A 7 year old....in Tokyo....it seemed like a joke. Growing up, and than seeing....Maple. Her sweet smile, kind personality. I had loved her ever since I laid eyes on her. Now, the girl I have loved so much, called me.....'a monster'.....

I realized what I had done....to Tokyo.....to Maple.....

They hit the ground, and I widdend my eyes. I shrank, and ran to Maple. "I'm so sorry!" I cried. Maple looked up at me,and smiled. "There's my Kauai...." She whispered. "I can still help thought......" I told her,tears running down my cheeks.

Maple looked confused. "How?" She whispered. "I'll....I'll kill myself....." I said. Maples eyes widened. "No!" She said, trying to sit up. She winced, and I helped her lay back down. "I've been causing too much trouble.....I need to do this....." I stood up. Maple tried to get up, but couldn't.

I looked at a bus. I grew bigger, and threw it straight in the air. It sailed high above the broken buildings. I shrank,and closed my eyes. 'Im doing this for you Maple....' I thought, the shadow of the bus coming over me. 'For us....'
