Traveling on the highway with the radio cranked up to my favorite song. My mom's in the driver's seat while I'm in the passenger's seat. The two moving vans are right behind us, and life is feeling good as I finally get to live near the California beaches, my dream home. My mom and I have always stayed close to where my father is serving and he has just been transferred to Hawaii. Hopefully it will last longer than before so I can soak up the California life. Los Angeles has always been on my wish list. And now, I am living the dream. You are probably thinking that I already am living the dream because of my mom's fashion business and my rich history and all of that, but I never asked for that stuffed. I never wanted to move around the U.S., but I got the chance to experience all of this. A girl like me, you would think got all of her wishes granted, but to be honest, I never got a single wish to become true. I have always wanted real, permanent friends, I have always wanted a boyfriend, and I've always wanted my father to come and stay home. None of that has ever happened to me. Yes, my dad has came home once or twice, but never did he stay. I have had girls to talk to at my old schools, but I left, and we never stayed in contact with each other. I have had friends that are boys, but NEVER a boyfriend.

Anyway, one wish came true, and I am on the road to happiness. I'm feeling really good about this move. I really feel like this is the last time I am moving. I will stay in L.A, I'll make friends, and maybe even get a boyfriend.

I don't know how much longer there is till we get to my new house, but I am....

"Hey!" I shout as I snap out of my thoughts.

"What?" my mom asks, confused and innocent.

"You changed the channel."

"Because your song was over," she said in defense.

"Yeah, but then my second favorite song was on, and you changed it!"

"Sorry, I'll change it back," she laughed, and I laughed along with her.

Okay, back to my inner thoughts. I don't know how much longer there is till we get to my new house, but I am super excited to see...

"Why'd you turn the radio off?!" I screech while exiting my inner thoughts, again.

"Because we're here," she replies.

"Oh," I say more calmly. I guess that answers my question as to how much longer.

We unbuckle, and step out of the car. The moving vans follow right behind us, and pull up to the front doors of our new home.

We all help to unpack all of the boxes from the moving vans into the house. We were about half way through unpacking when a car pulled up. A mom, her daughter and her son got out of the car. They walked up to me, and introduced themselves.

"Hello, I'm Mrs. Prescott, and this is Katelyn and Troy," Katelyn and Troy wave, and I wave back, then pay my attention back to Mrs. Prescott. "We live a few houses down, and we heard there was a new family coming to town. Once we heard the family was living close by, we were wondering if we could offer a hand with the boxes or something," Mrs. Prescott continued. "Or do something to make you feel welcome."

"Oh, well it's very nice to meet all of you," as I finish saying, my mom comes up behind me, and joins the circle of introduction. "Mom, this is Mrs. Prescott, Katelyn, and Troy. They have offered themselves to make us feel welcome or lend a hand or two to move boxes."

"Oh, well hello. I'm Mrs. Morgan, but feel free to call me Sandy."

"Well nice to meet you, Sandy. And you can feel free to call me Helen. I won't mind."

My mother nods. "Have you introduced yourself yet?" she directs the question to me.

"Oh, no. I haven't. I'm sorry. My name is Summer."
