MELODIC TONES OF SOFT CLASSICAL music swayed around the sunny atmosphere on a Sunday morning. Estella had met up with her parents for breakfast at a nearby café which was known to have the best Belgium waffles in New York City. Alex and Evelyn briefly debated on what they were having for breakfast while holding one menu at once while Estella's fingers quickly tapped the keyboard on her phone screen, unintentionally ignoring them when they asked her what breakfast choice would be better.
"Star?"
"Hmm?" She peaks one eye up for a split second before going back. It wasn't her fault she was so distracted. Harry thought it would be hilarious to send her stupid memes the entire morning. His reasoning? He was bored.
"Honey, wouldn't you like to order?" Evelyn catches her attention this time, Estella glaring up to see the waitress had come back with their drinks with a smile.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I'll take the Belgium waffle with whipped cream and strawberries. A side of home fries with green peppers and onions as well, please."
"And your choice of meat?"
"Turkey bacon."
"Alright," the waitress scribbles on the small notepad in her palm. "And what can I get you two?"
"I'll take the same thing but instead of turkey bacon I'll have sausage." Evelyn nods, closing her menu and handing it to her.
"I'll have an omelette with bacon, American cheese, onions, and green peppers. As for sides I'll take turkey bacon."
"Very well, I'll be back with your orders shortly."
"Thank you."
"So," Evelyn folds her hands together, scanning over her beautiful daughter with a bright smile, Estella finally setting her phone down and giving them her full attention. "How's everything going with Harry?"
"It's good as always," Estella sips on her orange juice. "But I don't want to get into all of that. There's a reason I wanted to meet up today."
"What's going on?" Alex asks, slightly concerned.
"There's two issues I want to talk about and I feel it's important to bring up instead of isolating it like I've been doing for weeks because I've been too scared to speak my mind about it," Estella hesitantly chewed on her lower lip. "First issue is about leaving Sei Bellissima."
The stunned emotion on her father's face was exactly what she was trying to avoid. His disappointment. "You want to leave? Why? What's going on?"
"Nothings going on, really-it's hard to explain," she sighed, rubbing her arm. "You know how you go to college for something because it's what you really wanted to do in the beginning but as time goes by there's this feeling of disinterest you get for that sort of career? That's exactly how I'm feeling. It's not that I don't care for fashion I'm just-bored of it."
"Bored of it how?" Evelyn asks.
"I don't feel as passionate about it as I did in the start. I love everything about our company, dad, I truly do. And I appreciate every opportunity you've given me to become the woman I am today-but I don't have that spark in my heart anymore to involve myself in that position. The authority of being the creative director was a wonderful experience and I'll always cherish that, but I think there are so many other people who deserve that roll-like Eli, for example."
