Overcome Depression
My heart wonders why
This tempest has a hold
In and out of despair
My mind grows cold
An icy blur reaches over my veins
Anger twinges my pulse
Tears well in my eyes
This is not paradise
My hands quiver
They want to reach into the sky
I long to feel happiness inside
Depression's grasp engulfs my senses
Bringing me down into its depths
I feel no hope
Reality knows I will overcome
But bad emotions overwhelm
In and out the darkness does creep
Ever coming and ever going
When might my mind be clear
How can my heart be full
When blood pumps ice
And the demons play with my emotions
How can I enjoy when happiness comes
Knowing depression will creep back in
A cycle my soul must break
A war in which my spirit plays a part
Will I overcome?
