“and sure enough coming right back at me was the target, and it was blasted right through the chest,” Morgan said the team was sitting around a table in David Rossi’s back garden discussing the friend that they had just lost, “the goggles come off and there is Strauss, and I was like what? I mean I would of never believed it if I hadn’t of seen it with my own eyes, that woman was one hell of a shot,”
“do you guys remember when she called me and I thought it was someone else,” Garcia laughed gesturing her thumb to Morgan,
“that was funny,” Jenifer Jareau laughed
“maybe for you but I was mortified,” Garcia’s face showed her embarrassment of that memory
“what did you say,” asked Alex Blake
“I said talk dirty to me,” answered a very red Garcia
“hey that was my line,” cut in David Rossi with a joke
“oh seriously David,” Alex Stedler buried her face in her hands as her godfather embarrassed her.
“what about you Alex, you two hated each other,” Aaron Hotchner asked the young girl
“oh god if we were left alone in the same room together for more than 20 minutes world war 3 would break out,” Alex laughed taking a sip from her drink, “but I did come home from a date with jay, I had told Dave that I would be back about ten, it was 11:30 by the time I got home and there on the couch making sweet love was David and Strauss,”
“really, oh how awkward was it,” Spencer Reid asked
“well at first I did realize it was Strauss, until I came out of the kitchen and there she was her hair all ruffled, stockings ripped and shirt barely staying closed, I couldn’t believe it, I mean I had never seen her like this before,” She laughed shaking her head
the group of friends continued telling stories and laughing about mishaps that bonded their relationship with Erin Strauss even further.
“last year, right here we had a very different celebration of life, of love and of good people,” David toasted the final memory, “this year it’s the other side of that, because well that’s just what family’s do, its been a hard year, but tonight we celebrate, a life well lived, well loved to a good woman,” he said raising his glass “an even better mother, to our friend, whom I will miss very much,”The team raised their glasses and toasted a woman who they would all miss.

Alex sat on the back steps of porch the following morning, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders and a cup of steaming coffee in her hands. She looked up as David came onto the porch, “I guess you’re going to have to go back to Chicago now,” he said sitting down beside her.
“I’m not going back,” she replied stubbornly,
“Alex that’s not my decision to make, it’s your father’s,” David sighed draping the blanket over both of them
“your wrong, it neither of your decisions, I turn 18 in 2 weeks I think I am old enough to make up my mind,” Alex was still being rather arrogant
“what about all your stuff,” he asked. He didn’t want her to leave but he knew if she didn’t there would be a confrontation
“it can wait, right now Josie needs me, you need me,” she sighed, her sister hadn’t even turned thirteen yet she had been through to many tortures any one should go through
“I’m fine Alex, and what if hennery starts calling you,” he lied he wasn’t fine he felt as if a whole had been ripped through his heart
“well considering my phone is still somewhere in New York I doubt he will,” she joked
“seriously Alex he will want you to go back to Chicago,” David sighed again
“yeah just like he wanted to keep in touch when he left, I’ve made my mind up David I am staying I will get my stuff after I turn 18 so I don’t have to put up with him trying to make me stay,” Alex’s mind was made up
“well I’m glad your home anyway I don’t think I can handle any more of Josie’s puberty questions,” David laughed defeated bumping his shoulder against hers
“on second thought,” Alex laughed bumping him back
