Since I wasn't needed by the higher ups until the broadcast I began training with the rest of the bronzes with power, Reid wasn't happy with that development but Blair was happy to have me near her. However it didn't take long for Ashley to figure out what was wrong with me.

"You can't tell anyone, especially Blair," I whispered to her. We were standing in a corner, I brought her over there after she mentioned my particular condition.

"But it could kill you," she argued.

"We have it under control Ashley, but Blair doesn't need to be worrying about me every second of every day," I replied.

"How do you have it under control?" she asked.

"I have treatments that help, I get them twice a day every day. But Ashley I'm begging you, don't tell Blair," I begged.

"Fine. I won't, but if you get worse I will," she swore.

"You can't tell your brother either," I added and she smiled.

"I won't, but we usually tell each other everything," she replied.

"He hates me enough and would tell Blair just to spite me," I commented.

"He doesn't hate you. He likes Blair and sees you as competition."

"Me and Blair? God no. Never happening. Nope."

"Wow you don't have to be that against it, she's a good person."

I smiled. "You misunderstand. Blair's an amazing person, but she's Caden's girl and even though he's gone... going after her would just seem wrong. I'm perfectly fine with just keeping her safe as is my job as best friend. But if Reid wants to date her, he has to ask me. No way I'm letting some jerk date her, if I did Caden would haunt my ass until the day I died."

"I'll let him know," she replied.

"Ash! Someone thinks they broke something!" a voice called from across the room.

"I swear they think I'm some kind of x-ray machine," Ashley sighed before walking over to them.

"What were you talking about?" Reid asked as he came up to me.

"None of your business," I replied.

"Stay away from my sister Lucien," he said.

"I'm not interested in your sister. We were just talking," I replied as I crossed my arms over my chest. "And even if I was interested in her, it's her choice not yours."

"You shouldn't be acting all high and mighty after the higher ups kicked you out," Reid said.

"They didn't kick me out. I finished my job and my attitude towards you has nothing to do with that. It had to do with you being an ass," I replied.

"What'd you say?" he asked as I saw his body tense up. I've seen and been in enough fights to know he was preparing to hit me.

"Bro, seriously, I wouldn't do what you're thinking about. I'm a blacksmith, it's my job to bend and break tough things and I could hold my own in a fight," I said but he didn't relax. "And I'm still injured, if you really want to fight me, be a man and wait 'til I heal fully." With that he walked away without another word.

"Always causing trouble I see," Claire said as she walked over to me.

"You look better I see," I commented and she smiled.

"I feel better. Thank you for forcing me to go to my room," she replied. "What was that all about?"

"It's nothing," I replied. "Anything you need?"
