My interrogations continued each one more brutal than the last until it got to the point where I wasn't able to get off of chair they strapped me down to. I wasn't going to last another day I knew that and there was no one I could tell. The man had died, been carried away just yesterday so he couldn't tell them when they came to get me and Kara hadn't shown up again.
I wanted to let my mom and the kids know that I loved them and that I wouldn't have chosen to live my life or die in any other way. I wanted to let Blair know that Caden wasn't going to be alone anymore and that I'd watch over her. I wanted to apologize for not being help Rose to her friends and family. And Claire... I wanted to tell her sorry for leaving and getting myself into this. So many things that were impossible to tell them now. I should have told Kara when I saw her or used my power when I wasn't too weak.
"Open it, hurry," I heard a voice say. I opened my eyes to see people coming into my cell.
"Skylar, are you still with us?" another voice said.
"Asher?" I asked weakly.
"Yeah, do you think we'd leave you in here to die?" the first voice said I now recognized it as Corin's.
"Corin, can you carry him?" Asher asked. There was no reply, but I was suddenly being lifted up.
"Hang on man, just keep hanging on," Corin said to me.

Voices were swirling around my head, all the conversations indiscernible, some words were clear but most weren't and nothing seemed to be in any kind of order. "Ignace for god's sake just heat him up!" a voice shouted pulling me out of the darkness and into a form of consciousness.
"Do you know how dangerous that is?" Ignace replied. "I have an equal chance of burning him from the inside. I won't do it."
"Ignace you have to." It was a girl. "You have to try."
"He could die," Ignace argued.
"He's dying already!" she shouted.

I was freezing cold. That was my first coherent feeling. The next was pain, but the pain was manageable. Eventually I brought myself to open my eyes, I immediately squinted dry to the bright lights in whatever room I was in. I haven't seen any kind of light in days and I longed to see the sun. I propped myself up on one of my elbows and then sat up.
"Oh my... Skylar?" Morgan asked as she stared at me slack jawed.
"How long have I been out?" I asked.
"Um you've been here for four days," she replied.
"I'm cold," I stated.
"Ignace couldn't heat your body all the way without risking burning you. It should go away the more you heal and move around," she explained.
"So I can move great," I replied before standing up.
"Whoa take it easy!" Morgan exclaimed as she grabbed into me before I could fall to the ground. "Four days in basically a coma and nine days being tortured and you want to walk as soon as you wake up."
"Always been an overachiever," I replied.
"I'll take you to see Claire, she wanted to be notified as soon as you woke up, but if you're insisting on walking we'll just go to her office," Morgan said. By the time we reached Claire's office I was pretty much walking on my own, only faulting a couple times. Morgan knocked on the door.
