FRISK

I was standing in a dark void on a light purple circle with a lily pad green in the center.

Well this is what death feels like.

"Greetings, Frisk. I am Chara." A young female voice said behind me.

I spun around and saw a girl about my age. She was transparent like a ghost and was floating. Her shirt was light green with one yellow stripe arcross her chest. Her tights were black and she had small black skirt to match. I couldn't see her shoes because her legs seem to fade away to fit the phantom look.

I crossed my arms and said "Huh, I always thought the grim reaper would be a boy."

Chara sighed and responded "Ha, ha. Very funny Frisk. But sorry to tell you, you're not dead. You're simply in the save screen. Look."

Chara floated over to my right and pointed to white letters.

Continue Reset

The word reset was highlighted yellow.

What is this...

Chara somehow grabbed my shoulders and explained "You are probably very confused, aren't you? Well, we kind of can't die."

What...

Chara sighed then continued "We are the soul of determination. We won't ever give up, even after death. So we can literally bend time itself so we can complete our goals. Failure literally isn't a option."

I stood still still for a few moments as Chara finished "Now all you have to do is hit that little reset button and we can fix everything."

I thought for a moment.

"No." I replied.

Chara floated a few feet away from me and looked taken aback.

"Why! You could give everyone a happy ending! No one would be dead, no one would be alone! Why wouldn't you take up that opportunity?"

I let out a breath and answered "Because fixing everything doesn't make it right. It just covers up what we-no, I, what I did. If I wanna re-pay what I did, I should stay here for the rest of eternity, since apparently I can't kill myself. You wanna make everything right go ahead."

Chara made a frustrated noise.

"Well, I kind of can't! Because I'm fricking stuck with you!"

Oh...

I sat on the floor and retorted "I suppose you better get used to seeing me all the time."

Chara sighed again as she messed with the wall opening a glichy window looking into the room I was just in.

I quickly crawled over to the window as Chara floated to the ground.

"What's this?" I asked Chara. She rested her on her hand and blankly answered "It's a thing so we can watch what's happening in the world. We can view it. Not so much interact."

"How'd you make it?"

"I messed with the code, it really wasn't that hard."

"Can you teach me how to make it?"

"Your curious, aren't you? Anyways, I might teach you one of these days."

"One last question."

"Ugh, what?"

"Why'd you make the window."

"So we don't die of boredom."

"You gave up on trying to leave?"

"Ugh, you said you only had one more question. And yes. I gave up because you seem very determined to stay here, and I know from personal experience to not mess with that."

What if I reset...
