secret wings

chapter 1

Hey there, my names Lily. I have long, blond hair and sapphire blue eyes which shimmer for a few minutes after direct sunlight, literally. Like if someone was annoying me I could look at the sun and when I look back at them they would run away thinking I had magic powers but come on, everyone knows there's no such thing as magic. Ouch! For some reason, every time since a couple of months ago, whenever someone says there's no such thing as magic, I get this weird pain all over my body. Even my foster parents don't know what this is about, yes you read me correct, I'm an orphan. My parents disappeared when I was a couple of months old and they haven't contacted me or anyone so people thought that they were dead, but I know there alive somewhere, I just don't know where.

When I passed a bush walking home from school, I saw something in the corner of my eye, so I turn around and look, nothing was there so I continued back home. When I let myself in, I took my shoes off then went up to my room to have a shower. When I got out the shower, I made myself some coffee in my kitchen and yes, I have my own kitchen and bathroom in my room. That's because my foster parents a wealthy so every week I get £200 to go out shopping with my friend and have a sleep over and stock up my kitchen. All my kitchen has is a kettle, toaster, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread and when I go shopping I buy all the other things but the lamest thing is, I have to eat up the table every tea time. Boring!

When I walked back in my room from putting my dirty cup in the sink, I hear a knock at my door. I open it but no ones there. Then I hear the knock again and it was coming from the front door. I started to walk across the landing when suddenly I felt a hand grip my wrist and pull me back. But before I could shout, a hand was over my mouth.

"Please be quiet and I will explain." this boy whispered in my ear so I nodded. When I turned around I saw the most handsome boy I had ever met. " The names Jason. And don't bother telling me your name I know its Lily."

"Ok firstly, how do you know my name and secondly, why wont you let me see who's at the door?" I ask.

"I know your name because where I'm from, your are like famous, and I wont let you open the door because there are vampires probably trying to eat you because they know how important you are. Now come on follow me." Jason said walking towards my open window.

"Are you telling me we're going to jump out my window?"

"No, we're going to fly out your window. Now, your almost sixteen right?"

"Yeah, so?"

"When a half fairy is almost sixteen, his or her wings appear, now close your eyes and picture some wings. There you go, now look behind you." Jason said so I look behind me and I see the most beautiful wings I have ever seen. They were sapphire blue to match my eyes, slightly transparent and because we were in direct sunlight, they were slightly shimmering. "All fairy wings match their eyes, and only the royal family's can shimmer because they are royal by blood."

"But how do you become royal?" I asked curiously.

"A few million years ago the sun gave birth, which only happens once every billion years, and because this fairy was like no other, he became the king, and the shimmering has never missed a generation so it is clear who is royal and who is not."

"Woah. So your saying that my mum or dad are the king or queen which makes me the princess?"

"Yes and no. Your mum is a princess because your grandparents are still alive and no one except your mother knows who your father is, and because your half fairy, we know that it had to be a human."

"Cool."

"Now we need to go. Your mother is expecting you."

"But where are we going?"

"To where all the fairy folk live. Its called Futopia."

"Nice but I don't know how to fly."

"That's okay, I will teach you on the way and now we better be going because the vampires have almost broke through your door." and with Jason saying that I realised he was right and I didn't even notice, but we run towards the window and jumped out and Jason was holding me so I didn't fall and I managed to get the hang of flying very quickly and easily, and with that, we flew out to sea.
