"Mr Friar was that necessary?" Mr Matthews asked once Maya had fled the room. Farkle went to Riley and gave her a hug assuring she was okay.

"You'd rather I'd lie to your daughter?" I ask confused.

"No, but I'd rather you didn't break their friendship up either." Mr Matthews said pointedly making me feel awful.

"Don't blame him Dad. It was her."

"It takes two to tango." Zay commented. "I know your mad Riley but she stepped back for you and what you did just then was mean. You will lose your best friend."

"Good. I don't want to be near someone who would betray me so easily and readily." Riley muttered.

"Fine. I'm just saying if this messes her up it's on you." He said and got up to walk out the room.

"Where do you think you're going Zay?" Mr Matthews asked him.

"To find Maya." He replied.

"I'm coming." Farkle stood up.

"Me too." I said quickly standing up. After all I had hurt her. 

"Oh no you're not. You have done enough freak face. You stay here and think about your actions." Farkle said and pushed me back into my seat.

"Minkus? Babineaux?" Mr Matthews said.

"Yeah?"

"Make sure she's safe." He smiled.

"Daddy!" Riley shouted. "You're on her side?"

"I'm on no ones side but friendships. Now can I get on with my lesson?" He sighed.

I tuned out after that. I had hurt the two most important girls in my life. I've broken up their friendship and basically the whole groups. I felt awful. 

The rest of the day went by in a blur. I couldn't concentrate: my mind was on her. It always is. It always will be. I love her and Riley could never change my feelings about her. I was so in love with her it was suffocating. It took up my entire life as if she is the only thing that exists in it. She is my world and I don't want to lose that. I don't want to be like her dad. I want to stay.

"Lucas?" I heard a voice ask. I turned around to see Riley looking at me sheepishly.

"Yes?"

"Please make sure she's okay." Riley smiled sadly. She may not be talking to Maya and she may be pissed as hell but that was her best friend and if something happened to her she wouldn't forgive herself.

"I will. I promise. But please promise me one thing in return?" I ask.

"What?" 

"Don't let me break your friendship up." I almost pleaded. I can't let myself be the reason for this.

"I can't promise that." Riley smiled but let a tear fall before she walked away. 

I frowned to myself and shook my head before walking out of the doors of school. I walked to Maya's house choosing not to take the subway so I could think for longer. I didn't know what to say to her but I knew I needed to be with her. I needed to make sure she was okay. 

I walked up the steps to her apartment and knocked on the door.  Her mother opened it and looked me up and down questionably.

"Hello Lucas?" She asked.

"Is Maya home Ms Hart?" I asked politely.

"No, not yet. Do you want to come in and wait?" She asked.

"No thank you. I'll wait out here. There may be shouting." I said sheepishly. 

"Oh okay. Don't hurt her." She said and closed the door. I slid down the wall and waited for her to come home.

"Lucas what on earth are you doing here?" Maya asked as she saw me. She stopped in her tracks. I stood up to greet her.

"I wanted to talk." I said.

"You want to talk now? After you have ruined my fucking life. No. You don't get to talk to me." Maya said and got her key out to unlock her door.

"Please Maya. Give me a chance. I - I love you." I said and looked into her big blue eyes.

"You ruined my friendship Lucas. I am not giving you a chance. You ruined my life. I hate you Lucas Friar." She muttered and walked inside slamming the door behind her. 

I slid down the back of her door and put my head in my hands and let a tear fall. What had I done? I have ruined everything. 

Little did Lucas know that Maya slid down the door and thought the same thing. Why did she say those things? Why did she ruin something else good? Why on earth did she say that?

I hate you Lucas Friar. 

An update so soon? You lucky things!! I just want to say it's hella late so please ignore mistakes and appreciate I actually updated.

Also my brother was an extra on Love Island tonight as a party guest and got in for free and was on TV more than once. But he danced like a fucking nob and has embarrassed me. Also he disappeared with the blonde girl he was talking to about 20 minutes before the end and all of his friends stayed. *I know what you did last summer plays*
