"Abby! Should I bring my bags in the car?" I called downstairs.

"Yes please!" She responded. I let out a shaky sigh and run my hands through my hair, pulling the jet black strands out of my eyes. I glance at the pile of luggage resting on my bed, it all was becoming so real. I'm worried because I'm going down to California to visit some family, which is always fun. But, ever since my mom died, my family hasn't been the same.

It's been about 2 years since she died. Theories came up that my mom isn't dead, that she just ran away. But I know she would do that to me and my sisters, right?

Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself. I'm Cleo Gretts, and I am seventeen. My two sisters are Abby, who's two years older than me, and our baby sister Luna, who's only two years old. I pick at my comforter, rubbing the magenta fabric between my fingertips. A memory of my mother hugging me and running her long fingers through my hair washes over me, and for a split second, I thought she wasn't gone.

It feels weird, knowing that your mother is dead. You just can't shake it out. It latches onto you but it only sinks it's teeth in at moments where you just want the world to stop.

My thoughts are interrupted as I hear thumping up the stairs. I smiled and heard my door open. Abby pops her head into the room.

"Hey Cleo, can you take Luna? I'll take your bags out to the car." Abby said handing over a sleepy Luna. I held my hands open and she leaned over to me, opening her arms. As I picked her up, she let out a gentle yawn, showing how tired she was.

"So, is dad even coming today?." I asked, lightly rocking back and forth to help Luna sleep.

"Of course not! It's, like, whatever. Even if he comes It's not like he's even gonna leave the hotel room. Besides, we're not gonna be taking care of her the whole time. We can actually have fun. We are able to go out! " She said with a smile. But it was a different type of smile, an evil smile. When she smiles evilly it always means she's up to no good.

"Oh god. And what about Luna?" I asked, lightly rubbing Luna's back.

"Grandpa and grandma said they'll take care of her. Let's go soon so we beat 5 o'clock traffic." She said while grabbing my bag. I put on my sunglasses and we walked down to the car.
Abby threw our bags into the trunk of the car as I put Luna in her car seat. Abby and I climbed into the front, turning the radio on only to be met with static.

"Uhhhg," I said, dragging out the word as I stretched out my tired arms. I looked over Abby and she laughed at me.

"You're such a goof." She commented and I smiled.

I looked at my sister, she had long velvet like hair. It was black like mine, but a little longer. She always had long hair, even when we were young. I remember it took my mom an hour to brush her hair. Which always makes me smile at the though because every time she would somehow be able to get threw the worst of Abby's hair.

"What?" Abby said smiling back at me.

"Hm?" I said snapping out of the dase I was in.

"You were smiling, what do I have something on my face?" She asked spitting out her tongue.

"No i was just thinking, sorry." I said looking in front of the car.

But still, my mind loves to wonder.

I remember a lot about my mom, like what she looks like, or how well of a mom she was. I remember her laugh, her hugs that held me tight when ever I was afraid. I wish she was still here.

Abby looked more like our mother then me. It's a crazy thought the Luna is going to see Abby more as mother then mom.

"Cleo?? Cleo!" Abby said lightly shaking my shoulder.

"Hm?!" I said once again breaking out of my daze and looked at Abby.

"Are you ok? You keep dazing off!" She said looking at me then looking back at the road.

"I'm fine. I'm just nervous." I said with a slight sigh. Luna started to blab along to herself.

"It's going to be ok! Just remember what you said! You have to make this summer great! See even Luna agrees. Right baby?" Abby said looking at the review mirror at Luna, i looked back and she smiled.

"Just breath. It's not like your gonna meet the love of your life there." She said and I laughed.

"True."

I looked out the window, trees quickly passing by our moving car. Make this summer great. I know what this summer is gonna be like. I don't really have any friends in this neighbor hood except this one kid. But I haven't talked to him since 8th grade. Mike Dirnt, that's his name. We were close friends, but when I moved away from California we lost touch.

But this year I want to make this summer rememberable.

There's a reason why we always visit our grandma for the summer. Don't we just seem like a regular family that's completely Normal? Well ever family has its secrets. And our secrets are a little more complicated.

Where my grandparents live, were able to be ourselves . I know I might not be making any sense, but I'm getting there. We've all heard of werewolf's and vampires. People think there's only werewolf's and vampires, I wish it was that easy. I wish there was only werewolf's and vampires. But, there is so much more. There's shapeshifters, People who can talk to animals, mermaids, fairies, elfs, any thing you can think, we might have it.

I'm a vampire, so is my sister, and most likely also is Luna. So was my parents, and my parents parents, and my parents parents parents. (So many parents it's a 6th graders nightmare)

But if you were wondering no, we're not like the Twilight movies, we don't sparkle in the sun light. Or we don't burn to a crisp. Just the sun hurts our eyes. It bright as shit, and ew. We are vampires

We're not suppose to tell any one. But my grandma always tells me if you look hard enough you will see people who are just like you. Either she's full of shit, their A++ liars, of I'm not looking hard enough to actually see them. It took about 3 hours to get to my grandparents house.

"We're here!" Abby said pulling into there drive way.

The town was open with space. The house is small but was always able to house all of the grankids. There is houses all around it, like it was a cute little neighborhood. But it wasn't completely open. There was woods behind all the houses and if you keep following straight down the road there is behind a bunch of trees is a big towns pool that looks off for a lake...... I know put a pool right next to a lake, who's the idiot that did that. Eh I give up on people.

"So, Cleo before we go in." She said looking at me.

"Your a twat." She said smiling then getting out of the car. I laughed. I still felt sick to my stomach. But i had to go in and see my family, they love me.

Right now Abby has her hair up in a messy bun so if Luna try's to grab her hair, it won't be to easy. But she has a little bit of a side part, she just throws some hair on the other said and BLAME side part. But her eyes are pretty cool. There a really cool blue, there very clear where it almost seems like there white. But somehow when she gets mad, they loose that color, they look more dark blue, like very dark. She had a sharp jawline. it kinda looks like if you touch her cheek you would cut yourself.

I opened the door and the familiar smell came across my nose. I've always loved it here.
