After we each get taken to our rooms we start to unpack. I have to share the room with Hermione, Rachel, the girl I hate Lavender Brown, and a girl I never met before named Parvati Patil. Rachel chooses the bed next to mine and Hermione gets the one next to hers. I like Rachel she's great I see her as being one of my best friends, but for some odd reason I just do not like Hermione. I finish unpacking and Marie comes in with a letter in her mouth. I take it from her and read the letter from my mum.

London,
Do not forget try to write me everyday. Keep Ron by your side. You know how Molly gets so just...just keep an eye on all the Weasley boys... OH and make friends please I know you already have friends but you need more friends you spend a lot of time to yourself and um what else be welcoming to the muggle-borns and please London I beg you if you love me do not call a muggle-born a mudblood I raised you better than that. Don't forget to feed Marie. You would lose your head if it wasn't attached to your body so don't forget to feed Marie, and if someone tries to pull something on you get revenge that's the one thing I liked about your father he didn't take anything from anyone. Oh but dear if you can't just go to Fred and George you know they'll take care of them and let me think am I forgetting anything oh yes don't let Fred and George give Percy a hard time you're the only one they'll listen too and if there's anything else it'll be at the top of my next letter. I LOVE YOU MY LITTLE LONDON
~Mum

I giggle as I put my letter with the rest of my stuff. I lay on my bed and look over and see Rachel looking at a picture. I get up and sit on the edge of her bed.
"Why aren't they moving?" I ask her.
She looks up at me confused. "It's not supposed to move."
I hand her a picture of the day I was born that has my mum kissing my head and holding me. "This is what the photos are supposed to look like."
She giggles a little. "Wizards and Witches are strange."
I giggle the same. "Rachel muggles are strange to wizards as wizards are to muggles."
"What's a muggle?" She asks.
"Do either of your parents have magic?"
She shakes her head no.
"Your parents are muggles because they don't do magic."
"It's alright Rachel," Hermione butts in. "My parents are muggles too." She sits on the other end of Rachel's bed.
Rachel smiles at the two of us then goes back to her picture and I look back at mine. If you look very closely you don't really see another person but you know he's there. My mum doesn't know I have this picture and I don't plan for her to know. The only thing I ever wish from my mother is that she would stop hiding things about my dad. Lavender grabs the picture from my hands and I almost feel myself hiss. I don't let anybody touch my picture.
"Why is your father missing from this?" She asks.
I snatch it back and put it away.
