Chapter 7
“No. No. No. No.” I repeated, “There is absolutely no way I am getting on that.” I stared at his motorbike in fear. “Aww, come on Lee! You’re pretty much indestructible! You're not gonna get hurt!” I ignored his nickname for me even though I secretly loved it. “I don’t care! I’ve hated those things ever since they were made!” I retorted. Yes, I was alive when bikes were invented.
“Come on please!” Seth pleaded. I couldn’t say no to that face! Stupid imprint thing! I sighed, “Fine.” Seth fist pumped and helped me on to his bike. He put a helmet on me and on himself, securing them while at it. Seth started the engine and the motor sprang to life. With that, we sped off.
“Where are we going?!” I screamed over the sound of the motor. “Home, my home!” Seth screamed back. Wasn’t the Cullen house their home?

We arrived at Seth’s home in a few minutes. His house was in a small, I would say, village. I looked around, examining my surroundings. It reminded me of the old days, the days when I stayed around my village, in Olongo. The setting was similar, except this village was obviously more high-tech and civilized. Seth hoped off the bike and help me off like the gentleman he was, and said, “Welcome to the La Push.”
“La what?” I asked. Seth chuckled and answered, “La Push. My hometown. Our tribe lives here. Like the werewolves…” I nodded in understanding. Of course, why didn’t I see it earlier? They were part of a tribe that gave them that gene to shift into a giant wolf.
We started walking towards his house. When we reached, I heard giggling from the inside of the house, Seth looked a tad bit disgusted, muttering something that sounded like ‘why me’. He opened the door and shouted, “Mom! I’m home!” The giggling immediately stopped and you could hear the heartbeats in the room beat more rapidly. There were 2 people in this house, which I assume are his parents.
Soon a middle-aged woman came out of the Kitchen, into the room we were in which I believe is the Living room. A man followed her out, with a small smile on his face. “Seth!” the women, I’m guessing is his mother, pulls him into a hug. “You look happy!” She pulls out of the embrace and looks over at me, “And I believe this young lady is the reason behind that smile.” She smiles at me.
“Hello dear, I’m Sue, this delinquent’s mother. What’s your name?” she asks me. Before I can reply, Seth cuts in, “Mom, this is my gir-friend, this is my friend, Leelyn.” Sue sends him a knowing look and pulls me into a bear hug. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, hun.” When we pull apart, she gestures to the man next to her, “This is my boyfriend, Charlie.” She says with a giggle. The man puts his arm around her waist, pull her close to him, as they gaze into each others’ eyes.
“Charlie is Bella’s dad.” Seth whispered in my ear. What happened to his dad? Are they divorced or something? My confused look must have been evident on my face because Seth’s eyes turned sad. “Hey mom, we’re gonna just head to my room now…” Seth said as he dragged me towards his room. “Of course honey! It was nice meeting you Leelyn!”
Seth’s room was your typical boy’s room. It was messy, like really messy. Seth closed the door behind us. His eyes widened as he looked at his room. “Shit.” He muttered as he scampered around his room tidying up his room a bit. When his room was in decent shape, he turned to me, his hand rubbing the back of his neck, “Sorry, I wasn’t planning to bring you here when I left the house this morning.” I laughed it off, “It’s fine, I don’t mind, really.” I really didn’t, I couldn’t care less if his room was a pigsty.
We both took a seat on his bed. Awkward silence filled the air. Again, he broke it. “So, I guess you wanna know about my dad, huh?” he asked. I answered him honestly, “I do, but if you don’t want to tell me about it, I won’t pry.” He looked grateful for a second, but then the look turned into indecision and then into determination. “My dad…. A few years back, some bloodsuc- vampires were in town, just passing through. My dad… he died of a heart attack.” He chocked out.
I didn’t say anything; I just pulled him into a hug. We fit into each other perfectly. “Its okay, I get it,” I comforted him, “I mean, I tore my mum to death and now my dad’s a psychopath.” His grip on me tightened and we stayed that way for a while. When we finally pulled apart, I looked at him with a small sad smile. “Alright, enough of being sad. What should we do?” I asked, feeling the excitement bubble within me.
Seth grinned. “Let’s go to the beach.”
