Angelo:
Creed had asked him to get to Duncan immediately, and Angelo had responded without a second thought. He'd been in the middle of settling the wolves and Brie, when the request came. And few minutes later, all was silence.
It was unnerving. When he felt Creed try to get a read on everyone's location he knew what was coming next. Still, it didn't prepare him for the empty abyss that remained where his son's presence had once occupied. Rayne's fear filled cries to get his attention was another pain he could do without. He calmed her down, quietly telling her that he was aware of Creed's plan, and apologized numerous times for not warning her in advance. For a moment, when they arrived at Duncan's place, he'd fumbled for balance. He couldn't explain what the void was doing to him, but he held it together in front of everyone.
And by everyone, he meant the wolves and his freaked out Necromancing sidekick. Brie was beside herself. Creed going ghost was one thing, but when he'd asked her to leave it; he didn't expect that same icy hollowness to consume him as well. By the time they'd gotten here, his son and McKenna were long gone. He'd blocked them all out, and cleverly managed to conceal their whereabouts. Save for Malachi and Celeste, who would be of no help right now, they would have to wait for him to show himself on radar but only if and when he was ready.
He was worried. Very worried. McKenna had been getting sicker lately according to Duncan, and Creed wasn't far behind. Between the two of them, if something went wrong and they were out of range, no one would know, and there'd be no help for them.
He hoped his unease wouldn't carry over to Rayne, but he couldn't help feeling the way he did. There hadn't been time to go over the finer details of things. All he knew was that Creed was taking McKenna with him to work things out. Duncan had agreed to let him do it, but didn't know exactly what he planned or where he was headed. He and Creed had an ally in one brother, but it was the other three that concerned him, more especially the eldest.
The Alpha was a hard headed, stubborn revenge seeking machine. If Brie hadn't thrown that punch when she did, Angelo would have been stuck there for a whole new reason. Namely killing him. After hearing everything out, they were still no closer to gaining his understanding. The man was holding on to his anger like a breath of air. He felt bad for Duncan. Really, he did. He was the only one who was actually thinking of both Creed and McKenna when he acted. He'd promised Creed that he would make sure he was ok, and he meant to do just that, even if he had to go against Bryce to do it.
Hours had passed since the brothers followed their Alpha outside. Angelo hung around within earshot, just for Duncan's sake. But he kept his distance, allowing them to work through their issues. He could hear their bickering, Bryce not giving an inch in his decision to make an example of Duncan for his behaviour, and Duncan was accepting of his fate with an ease that annoyed the shit out of Angelo.
Liam and Roark were not happy with it, but they could not go against their Alpha. As brothers though, they put up a good argument on Duncan's behalf, but Mr. Strong and Silent refused to add anything from his side to lighten his sentence. He was prepared to face his punishment, in full agreement of his betrayal and pending exile from his pack. Angelo rolled his eyes at that. Exile? Seriously? Duncan was leaving with him and Brie, whether he liked it or not. The man had earned his respect.
