Chapter Three: Katarina
After we pull into the parking lot everyone is out of the car within seconds.
“Meet at the tables outside of Paddons,” Ty says.
Everyone yells ok and heads to where they want their choice of food. I follow Ty into Paddons a see his girlfriend Haley.
“Hey babe! Hey Kat!” she says and leans over the counter to give Ty a kiss.
“What are you two up to tonight?”
“just gabbing some food before we go out tonight” Ty says.
Haley then looks at me and smiles.
“Why so glum Sugar plum?”
“I’m not blue but how are you?”
“I am fine dandelion”
“That’s divine well im in line”
“NO MORE RYMEING!” Ty shoots cutting of Haley and I.
We both brake out into a laughing fit.
“They are so childish” Ty mumbles very quietly that I almost missed it.
“Hey!” I turn and punch him in the stomach, “We are not childish! We are just having a fun conversation!”
“How the hell did you hear that? I barely whispered it!!” he says rubbing his stomach.
“She’s one special girl Ty you know that,” Haley says while high fiving me, “She has special super hearing you know that” winking at him.
“Yea, I am one special girl!”
“I know you are now let’s eat.”
“ok what do you two want?” Haley says getting back into working mode.
I look at the menu, but like always lately nothing really looks appetizing.
“I’ll have 4 slices of sausage pizza, Kitten?”
“Eh, I’m not that hungry I’ll just have some water.”
Haley looks at me with a concerned look.
“Kat you need to eat something. I know you haven’t been eating much lately and your starting to look thin, not sickly thin but thinner than normal.” Ty said and I can hear the concern laced in his voice.
I see Haley nodding her head in agreement, “He’s right you know. You didn’t eat much last week when we were out either.”
I sigh and know that they are right. I tend to eat less when Jace and I are not talking. It’s not that I’m depressed I just for some reason lose my appetite.
“I know I just haven’t been that hungry lately”
I see Ty and Haley looking at each other. It looked like they were communication with each other somehow silently, but they have always been like that when they were dating. I always thought it was so cool how they could finish each other’s sentences and always knew what the other was thinking. I was always so amazed that they could do it and they always seemed so happy when the other finished each other sentences.
“Kat. Kat. Katarinaaaaaaa.” I hear a voice pulling me out of my thought.
“Huh, what?”
“You were staring into space again. What were you thinking about?” Ty asks still looking concerned.
I let out sigh.
“You’re right. I haven’t been eating much lately. I don’t know why, but I’ll work on it,” I see them start to smile, “I have 1 slice of cheese pizza Hal.”
