Chapter Four
Katarina:
After Ty came out of Starbucks with my drink and we started walking back to the rest of the group. When we get there I see everyone eating and when I see my pizza my stomach growls. But before I get to dive into my food someone talks.
“What did you do to the poor girl? Did you make her cry?!” Carter asks.
“Howd you know I was crying?”
“Your make-ups looks smudged under your eyes, but that’s beside the point. What did he do?”
“I didn’t do anything to her! All I did was talk to her!!” Ty try’s to defend himself.
“Then why does it look like she cried.” Kris interjects
“Guys really I’m fine. He just hit a soft topic and you know me I’m very emotional sometimes. Let him be,” I try to get the attention off Ty.
“Fine well leave it for now, but this is not over,” Carter says staring down Ty.
“Remind me to never get on your bad side,” Clay says trying to lighten the mood.
“Alright everyone let eat and then go to the party.” Kris says.
“Where are we going anyways?” I ask while settling into my seat.
“Percy’s” Clay says while talking a bit of pizza.
“Yea, it’s like a last who-rah for all the graduates before we all go our separate ways.” Evan says
“Oh” I say and start nibbling my slice.
Great, I think to myself, I’m going to be the only underclass man, and on top of that I’m not going to know anyone! Why did I let them convince me to come!
“Kat you may be one of the few under class men, but don’t you worry your pretty little head cause I’ll introduce you to people so you don’t have to be shy.” Clay says like he knew what I was thinks
“Thanks” I mumble out.
“What was that? I didn’t hear what you said,” Clay said smiling at me.
“I said thanks Clay”
“aww Kitty Kat said thanks to me did everyone hear that!” Clay says like a five year old who just got his favorite lollipop.
“I did now lets not add onto you ego. I don’t think we could take much more of it.” I say. Everyone tries to control and cover up their laughter while Clay is staring at me open mouthed.
“Now, now Clay,” I start while I stand up to throw away my trash, “you don’t want to stand there open mouth and catch flies it’s not flattering.”
With that Evan breaks into a fit of laughter.
“she got you there dude.” Ty says while shaking his head laughing.
“Well I see how it is Kat. Game on. Lets see who will win this game tonight.” Clay says getting up and starts walking to the car.
“Clay the games already over, we both know I have already won. There’s no point in trying.” I yell after him
“WE WILL SEE” he yells back.
“Kat it never ends well when you two try to embarrass each other. Do you really want to start this?” Kris asks smiling at me.
“Do I ever really get an option when it comes to him? If I don’t get him back for all the times he embarrasses me it wouldn’t be fair would it. Plus it’s fun to knock his ego down every once in a while.” I say and wink at her.
