I apologize for taking back the greatest promise I ever made to you,
But I can't always please everyone with all I try to do.
Being who you wanted was much more difficult than I thought,
So I had to take a step back, review, and do what I truly ought.
I restored who I really was, who I really wanted to be
Because without doing so, at some point my being would end up in debris.
I'm sorry, but I'm not you, and I refuse to try to succeed in what you failed.
You can't force me to be yourself, so I must decline to repeat your twisted tale.
I am who I am, and you can't change that.
I'm not a duplicate of you and that's a simple fact.
If you want someone to accomplish what you could not,
Then maybe you should find someone who'll care and won't give it a second thought.
