Coffee for two BOYXBOY

Chapter 4

Matt waited at the park, having been ten minutes early. He waved to Ryan when he saw him walking up.

"Hey!" He smiled.

Ryan waved and smiled back. "Hey! Happy to see you came."

"Well, of course I'd come." Matt just kind of shrugged.

Ryan chuckled. "Yeah. Well, what would you like to do?"

Matt shrugged once again.

"There's an ice cream parlor not far from here. Want to go check it out? Treats on me."

Matt nodded. "Sure, it sounds like fun."

"Great! Let's go." Ryan grabbed matts hand and pulled him along to the ice cream parlor.

They went inside and ordered two ice cream cones, sitting down at a table so they wouldn't melt outside. They talked for a bit, getting to know a bit more about each other. Matt enjoyed the time he was spending with Ryan, but was unsure if Ryan felt the same. Matt noticed all the small gestures the other boy made. The way his eyes shined, the way he smiled and laughed. His enthusiasm about everything was so nice. He liked it.

After ice cream they went for a walk around town, pointing out different things and playing small games. They came up to Ryan's house and he said goodbye, heading inside for the night. Matt smiled and waved, slightly bummed their day was over but went home himself.

He went inside and got a coffee the next day. Greeting Ryan with a smile and getting greeted back with the same enthusiasm. Matt once again had a small note slipped in with the money and went to a table and sat down. Ryan opened the note and read it.

"I enjoyed our time yesterday. Maybe we can have another? Possibly the movies this Friday?"

Ryan walked over with a chuckle.

"I DO have a phone you know."

Matt looked up at the other and smiled. "But writing you notes is much more fun"

Ryan chuckled again, shaking his head a bit. "Yeah, movies sound great."

"I'll pick you up Friday at 8. I hope you like horror."

Ryan nodded before heading back to work. Matt silently congratulated himself on snagging yet another date with Ryan. Only this one, was a bit more formal.
