Hey guys, its Madi. Me and my friend Whit are writing this book together based off our experiences at sleep away camp! This is our first book written together, hope you enjoy it. Picture above of Ava.

I can't believe my parents are sending me to sleep away camp as some kind of sick punishment for getting arrested at ONE party. I'm 17 and yet they still treat me as a 10 year old.

"Honey, stop feeling sorry for yourself. You're going to have a great time at camp!" My mom cheerily exclaims from the front.

"I used to go to camp when I was your age and it was the best part of my summer." My dad chimes in.

I grunt back, as I refuse to acknowledge I might have ANY fun at this camp. I text back my friends as in a few short hours, I won't even be allowed to have my cellphone. My two best friends, Mia and Sophie are probably already planning another party at their lake house. I'm going to come back from camp and be so behind on everything.

What's worse is, I have to be a CIT or Counselor in Training, so I'll probably be surrounded by a ton of goody-goody two shoes. Plus, everyone there has probably been going to this camp for years(who would even want that?) and I've never even been to day camp.

Finally, we pulled up to Camp Aspen. Boys and girls scattered everywhere, hugging parents goodbye. A lady greeted us and pointed to CIT A, the left side of the huge cabin. I grabbed my new trunk from the car and walked up. Even though we arrived early, there were a few campers scattered around. I glanced over at the boys side and saw there were a few cute guys over there. But one in particular caught my eye.

He looked older, so he had to be a counselor. He had sandy brown hair with bright blue eyes. He had a bit of a scruff and had a nice body to say the least. Suddenly he looked up at me, I quickly turned away, embarrassed he had caught me looking at him. I continued to drag my trunk on the ground, my parents were busy chatting to random counselors.

"Need any help with that?" I heard an Australian voice say. I turned around to see the gorgeous guy I was just looking at.

"Oh, sure." I said, startled and slightly embarrassed.

"How many years have you been coming here for?" He asked as he picked my trunk up with ease.

"It's my first actually," I replied, feeling stupid as most of the other kids had been coming here for years.

"First years are always fun. It's only my second year. Not many summer camps in Australia," He said chuckling. "Whats your name?"

"Ava," I replied. "I'm not even sure where my bunk is."

"No worries. Eva..." He said looking around. "Ah, right here." He placed my trunk by the bed.

"Thanks." I said, feeling awkward.

"Anytime. Nice meeting you, Eva." He said and walked back to his side of the cabin. He was even cuter close up. Ava, he's a counselor no way thats ever going to happen.

Finally satisfied with my bed, I turned around and was face to face with an older girl who I assumed was a counselor.

"Hey there! My names Danny and I'll be your counselor for the next 8 weeks!" She said cheerily. She was tall and had dark skin with gorgeous bouncy hair. She was wearing a camp t-shirt and black athletic shorts but still looked really good in them.

"Hey, I'm Ava." I replied, trying to match her cheeriness.

"The blond Australian over there is Lilly. She's new too." Danny replied.

"Is it that obvious?" I said smiling. She laughed and nodded.

My parents came over for one last hug. We said our goodbyes and I would truly miss them. 8 weeks is a long time.

When I returned to my bunk, I saw three girls clustered around the bottom bunk. I recognized two of the girls from earlier, Liz and Abby, and I figured the third girl must be Hazel, my bunkmate.

I awkwardly climbed onto my bed and started hanging up pictures from home. Glancing down at Hazel, I could tell she had been going here for a while and was without a doubt popular, judging how the other girls stared at how pretty she was. She had auburn hair and was wearing a cropped tank top and ripped jean shorts.

She looked like someone I could possibly find myself being friends with in the future, that is if she wasn't a total bitch.
