Bucky didn't know where he was, couldn't remember how he had come to be in this place. His arm was shackled to the wall, only the one arm. He couldn't bare to even glance at the other; a bloodied stump was all that remained of his arm. The door to the cell was thrown open, and a guard came in. Bucky tried to struggle to his feet, tried to stand, but he wasn't strong enough.
-------------------------------------------
Bucky was strapped to a table, his right arm tied down. They were doing something to the stump of his left arm, something awful. Pain unlike anything he had ever experienced shot through Bucky, he screamed until his throat was raw. Screamed for them to stop, screamed for Steve to help him. Eventually his nostrils filled with the smell of burning flesh, and the incredible pain allowed him to lose consciousness.
Snapping awake, Bucky blinked rapidly, trying to figure out where he was. Familiar pieces of furniture greeted him, he was in his bedroom. Letting his head fall back against the pillow, Bucky tried to block out the nightmare. He'd had the same nightmare every night this week; it was a memory, but for some reason it seemed much worse. Bucky sometimes wished he'd died in that cell, before he'd been turned into a weapon. But then he reminded himself that he was needed here.
Climbing out of bed, Bucky made his way quietly through the apartment. He opened Willow's door silently, she was wide awake, her green eyes glowing slightly.
"You alright Buck?"
"Did you pick up on it again?" Bucky asked. Sometimes, if Willow was asleep and Bucky had a nightmare, her mind would pick up on it and it would wake her up. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be. Come here, you look terrified. Was it the same dream?"
Bucky nodded, sitting down on the edge of Willow's bed. Willow place her hand on the back of Bucky's neck, running her fingers up through his hair. Willow often did this when Bucky was upset, and he found it strangely comforting; though it really messed up his hair, but Bucky didn't really care. Willow wrapped her arms around him from behind and pulled him closer to her. "Well you don't need to worry about it, your safe here."
"I know Willy."
"But you will be in serious danger if you call me Willy again."
"Alright then."
Bucky let his head rest on the pillow next to Willow's staring into her green eyes. Bucky let his right hand rest on her shoulder. Willow had one hand propping up her head, and the other cupped around his cheek. She let her thumb run down the right side of his face."Go to sleep idiot," She said softly.
"Alright then."
"If you say that again, I'll knife you. I swear."
"Alright then."
"Bucky. Shut up and go back to sleep. I have work tomorrow."
Bucky closed his eyes, and fell asleep to the sound of Willow's soft breathing. Waking up every now and then, but then calming down when he realized Willow was still right beside him.
