After my first day at work at the dental office which went surprisingly well I decided too get myself some Taco Bell cause I mean , no one can go wrong with Taco Bell for dinner. As I await my order inside the fast food restaurant I feel something or should I say someone bump into me as I sip my soda which makes me spill my drink all over me. " fabulous " I mostly say to myself. " I'm so sorry , I should of been paying attention to where I was going" a mans voice says to me as I look down at my soaked scrubs. I look up at the man just too realize it's the jerk cop who gave me a ticket last week.
" small town huh?" He says trying to crack a joke about the situation, I just roll my eyes. " here miss , another drink on the house " an employee says as he hands me another soda. " thank you , I really appreciate it" I smile too the nice boy. " I'm actually really sorry , I didn't do that on purpose " the cop says. " it's fine , lets just pretend it didn't even happen" I fake smile as I grab my order from the nice boy who called my number order.
As I walk out the restaurant and walk to my car i hear the cop call my name. " why are you following me? And why do you remember my name?" I say turning to him as I open my car door. " I'm not trying too follow you and it's only been a week since I last saw you , you have a common name" he chuckles. I'm not gonna lie, He's freaking hot but he gave me a hundred dollar ticket for a damn light. " do you need something?" I ask getting irritated by him. " I just wanted to say im sorry , I know I came out as an asshole that other night , I was just having a shitty day and I guess I took it out on you and that ticket " he says.
" it's fine ... It's been paid for already so don't worry about it " I say. " let me take you out for dinner , as a payback " he says before I have the chance too get in my car. " I barely know you... I mean I don't even know your name" I say. " it's Jake , Jake Riley and you can trust me I mean I'm a cop" he says awkwardly.
" fine , just cause you owe me" I say and he smiles. " can we exchange numbers?" He asks and I nod. We switch phone numbers. " when are you free?" He asks. " during the week anytime after 4:30 p.m and I'm free every weekend" I say hiding a smile. This would be I guess my first ever date... Yes I'm 25 years old and not I've never been on a date nor had a boyfriend , I was always way too into my studies and no guy ever really noticed me in high school or college.
" how about Friday night at 8?" He asks. " sounds good , I'll text you my address" I say and he nods. " see you then , and don't pull me over after this " I joke and he chuckles. " promise I won't " he smirks and walks back into the fast food restaurant. I drive home and eat my "dinner" while watching pretty little liars. As I was enjoying my food and tv series I get a FaceTime call from my best friend Amanda who's in the marines , she's currently in Japan so I barely get a chance to talk too her let alone see her.
" hey!!" I smile into my phone. " hey Kiki" she says , she's always called me Kiki ever since we met back in elementary school. " how have you been? I'm so happy you called" I say. " I've been good , just got back from Germany , that place is amazing we need to take a vacation trip there" she smiles. " let's do it!" I chuckle. " so how was your first day at your new job?" She asks. " it was good , everyone was really nice and it was a smooth day " I nod. " that's great too hear , so any boys?" She says quickly getting too the point. " eh , I got pulled over by a cop the night I came into town and I ran into him this evening at Taco Bell and long story short he asked me to go out too dinner with him as an "I'm sorry" for the ticket " I say shaking my head. " that's great , it's a total date... I'm happy for you Kiki you deserve it " Amanda smiles. " thanks , but I'm not trying to get my hopes up I mean the guy is Totally out of my league he could just be trying to be nice " I shrug. " doubt it , I'm gonna be at my base this whole month so make sure you FaceTime me when you goshopping for a dress and before your date , I need to approve on everything!" She says excitedly. " you got it , Mandy " I laugh. " alright , it's super late over here so goodnight , love you!" She says. " love you too , be safe" I say and she waves before ending the call. Gosh do I miss my best friend.
