It was now Thursday evening and I was finishing up at work. " So Kimberly , how have you been enjoying Atlanta?" My new co-worker Allison asks. " I like it , different from home but I'm getting used to it quickly" I say to her and she nods. " hey are you doing anything after work?" She asks me. " I'm just gonna go to the mall to find a new outfit" I say. " ooo mind if I join , I'll buy dinner " she says. " yeah of course! You can help me choose an outfit for my date tomorrow!" I say happily. " wow not even a month living here and you got a date look at you " she jokes. " I'm pretty nervous , I've never really been on one and I'm not sure if the guy even sees it as a date " I say butting the inside of my cheek. " oh either way this is a special occasion, I'll meet you in the parking garage in 20!" She says as I hand her the folders so she can put it in the file cabinet.

"okay so tell me about this guy" Allison says as we enter the mall together. " well he's a cop ... He actually gave me a ticket the first night of me being here and I found him again at Taco Bell earlier this week but as an I'm sorry he's buying me dinner " I say."that's an interesting way of meeting someone but as long as he's cute and is gonna treat you right , the. By all means get it girl!" She says and I laugh. " he's very cute " I nod.

We go into forever 21 and Allison helps me pick out a couple dresses. After going thru the whole store about three times making sure I found every cute dress I could find , I go into the dressing room. Most dresses fit me a little to awkwardly so I just passed those to Allison over the fitting room door.

" any luck at all?" Allison asks. " yeah the one I have on now is okay " I say as I look in the mirror. " let me see!" She says and I oblige and open the door. " that is so cute! It's very boho chic " she says." Thanks , let me try on the last four." I say and she nods. I try on two of the dresses or at least tired cause the didn't go pass my thighs , thunder thighs problem. I try on the last one which is a fit and flare burgundy dress with an open back. " I kind of like this one!" I say. " let me see ya " Allison says and I open the fitting room door too show her. " I love that color on you! It really compliments your skin tone" Allison says. " thanks , you don't think it's too much?" I say turning around. " no , I love it and it's semi halter so it makes your shoulders look good , I say go with that one" she says. " well I'm gonna get both of them cause the other one is too cute to leave behind " I say. " agreed , I'm going too the bathroom while you change " she says and I nod. I change back into my scrubs and meet her at the checkout line.

" so what do you feel like eating?" Allison says once she approaches me. " I'll eat anything really " I say. " Chinese?" She asks. " sounds amazing right now " I say and she nods chuckling. After I pay for the dresses we go to the food court and get our food , she wouldn't let me pay so she ended up paying but I'll just make it up to her tomorrow for lunch.

" so are you seeing anyone?" I ask her. " yeah actually but he's on deployment he left about 4 months ago for his tour" she says getting rather sad. " really? My best friend is in the military also! " I say taking a bite of my broccoli. " what branch?" She asks. " marines " I say. " really my boyfriend is a marine too!" She says. " well what do ya know" I say and we laugh.

" Do you have any plans for Sunday?" She asks. " nothing but going grocery shopping but I can do that Saturday" I say taking a bite of my food. " let's go too the movies! We get in for free on Sunday's thanks too the head doctor at the office , he's co-owner of the theater downtown" she says. " sounds great im totally up for it" I smile. We enjoy and finish off our food and then we head our separate ways. Once I get home I take a nice long shower and watch a little tv.

As I watch tv I get a text from Jake.

" still on for tomorrow right?🤔" He texts and I smile at my phone screen.

"Of course , here's my address🙂" I text back as I send him my location.

" thanks , see you tomorrow at 8😁. Have a goodnight☄" he sends back and I chuckle at the emojis.

" you too💤" I quickly text back and set my phone aside.

I really hope tomorrow goes well.
