"Are you nervous?" Allison asks as we walk out of work together , it was Friday evening and surprisingly enough the day was pretty slow and the last two appointments of the day got cancelled so everyone got off an hour earlier. " just a little , I just hope it's not awkward between us you know?" I say. " I completely understand , but just be positive and be yourself!

"Thanks , I'll see you Sunday!" I say to her not forgetting the plans we made." See you Sunday and good luck!" She says as we part ways to our cars. I enter my car and start it. Before I can pull out of my parking space my best friend Amanda calls me thru Bluetooth. " hey girl hey!" I say and she giggles. " hey! I hope I caught you before your date!" She says. " yeah you're good , I'm getting out of work right now " I say driving down the street towards my place. Thank go I only live 20 minutes away from my job.

" sorry I didn't reply too your text the other day about the dress , it was pretty busy around here " she says. " it's fine I imagined you were busy " I say turning right onto another street. " but I loved the dress! So are you nervous about later " she asks. " yeah kind of , I mean it's just dinner. I don't wanna make that big of deal about it." I say. " it's gonna be fine! Just have a good time and whatever happens , use protection!" Amanda says an I roll my eyes. " NOTHING like that is gonna happen!" I say as i turn into my apartment complex.

" I'm just saying! But text me after your date so I know how it went! , have fun ... Love you!" She says. " love you too stay safe " I say as i shut the car off and go up to my apartment.

I quickly jump into the shower and wash my hair and body and shave where I need too shave. After about possibly 40 minutes in the shower I get out and put on my robe and put my hair in a towel. I turn on my beats pill and put on drake. I put my phone too charge and I get out my dress for tonight and lay it out on the bed. Once I lay it out I go to my dresser and pick the best jewelry that would fit it , i picked my diamond stud earrings I got for my graduation and my Pandora bracelet. 

I go on to do my hair , I just decide too curl my hair which takes me a good 45 minutes too an hour too do cause I'm a perfectionist and have pretty thick hair. After that I just do my make up , nothing spontaneous just something pretty and simple.

I look at the time and it's already 7:48pm so I decide to put on my clothing and accessories. After I put everything on I spray myself with my favorite perfume and decide on taking a cute mirror selfie too send the girls.

As I sit and wait around for Jake too come I go thru my social media and see all my friends back home posts. I see some pictures  of my brothers which make me laugh , their younger than me so they're still in college and having the time of their lives.

After awhile I notice it's already 8:30 and I haven't even gotten a call from Jake... I start to wonder if he's forgotten or just running terribly late, but I decide to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he's just really bad with time and he's running late. I'm just gonna wait until 9:30 cause you never know.

It was 9:58 once I heard the door knock. I was still dressed , why? I have no clue. I open the door to reveal a very worried Jake. " Kimberly , I'm so sorry I'm late , we had a real bad emergency at work and I caught up in it and then there was an accident on the highway which made everything worse and I'm just really sorry , I'll completely understand if you don't wanna ever see me I just needed to say how sorry am I for basically standing you up in person" he says.

" it's okay Jake... You could of just called and told me what was going on I would of completely understood but I appreciate you coming over here and having the guts too say your sorry most guys wouldn't even send a text saying sorry." I say. " well if you're still up for it we can go somewhere and grab a bite... Our reservation was probably given to someone else so whatever place we go to won't be as fancy " he says. I look at the Time on my wall clock and it's ten. " how about we just order something and watch a movie or something , it's pretty late and by the time we get to a decent restaurant around here it'll be really late." I smile at him.

" are you okay with that , I mean you look too beautiful too let this outfit go to waste " he says looking at me up and down. " in all honesty , I just wanna take these heels off cause I can't feel my toes anymore and what's better than a dinner and movie?" I smile and he smiles and nods. " alright , I'm up for it" he says. " come on in , make yourself at home " I say moving out of the door way so he can come in.

"I would of expected some sort of dog running around in here" Jake says. " I was planning on going too a animal shelter tomorrow too see dogs actually " I say to him as I take off my heels and feel ten times better. " so what food did you have in mind for take out?" Jake asks me. " anything really I'm new here so I wouldn't know what's good around" I say as we walk too my living room. " how about Thai food?" He asks. " go for it!" I smile as I sit on the couch and turn on the tv. " all my movies are still packed in boxes so movies on demand shall do" I say as I look for any decent movie on the tv. He orders some food quickly online. " what genre do you prefer?" I ask looking over too him catching him staring at me but he tries to play it off. I feel my cheeks heat up.boy is this gonna be an awkward night.
