"Dodgeball! Dodgeball! Dodgeball!" The children chanted as Doc, Freddy and Foxy moved the demonstration furniture to the side so they could finally do some sport. Chica and Bonnie returned from their voyage to the sport section with bags of foam balls over their shoulders.
"Ok, Doc and I can be team captains." Freddy began. "Want first pick, Doc?" Doc nodded greatfully and without a moment of thought, came up with his answer.
"Foxy." His accuracy when throwing knives will come in useful.
"Goldie." Goldie often threw knives alongside Foxy at a half-destroyed manakin in Pirate Cove. Goldie strode over to Freddy and Foxy did he same with Doc.
"Rachael." Doc boldly spoke. He knew that the children would be given a fighting chance to win by deliberately throwing the game in their favour. Freddy spotted Doc's strategy and took this as an opportunity to take the boy with the hook wound who would most likely make Foxy his target. The game was set and they all touched the wall. The little girl, Hannah who was still afraid of Foxy, sat at the side for a few moments and blew the whistle indicating that the game had started. The teams went as follows:
Doc:
Foxy,
Rachael,
Chica,
Matthew.Freddy:
Goldie,
Edward,
Bonnie,
Hannah.Hannah threw a foam ball at Chica, but it missed and hit Matthew while Rachael tossed a ball at Bonnie. The rabbit saw this as an opportunity to catch, but shook his head at the idea and stepped in front getting himself out deliberately to give Rachael her five second glory. On Doc's belt was his walkie talkie which he hadn't bothered to take off. The hand held communication device began to vibrate.
Doc stopped in his tracks.
"You've reached Doc, who is this?" A voice returned in almost a shriek.
"DOC, DOC! THANK GOD!!! I-ITS GUNMAN 16!"
"You're alive!" Doc gasped with glee as he failed to notice the ball speeding toward his face. This was caught as Foxy's hook pierced the foam.
"Yer out, lass!" The pirate called to Hannah.
"Yeah, uh... Doc? I don't think I'm gonna be alive much longer..." Then Doc heared the distinct sound of zombie groans. "Listen, listen, being as you're probably going to live, I'd better tell you that I received a tip-off that some surviving planes are coming to collect anyone uninfected-" A pained screech came from a zombie as gunshots rang out on the other end of the line. "-before they bomb the place- AGH!" Doc's eyes widened.
"16, 16! Stay with me, man!"
"Looks like it's the end of the line for me... just protect my childhood memories..." Everyone had finally realised what was going on and had paused the game to listen. "Please save Freddy, Chica and Bonnie! They've always been special to me- AGH! AAARRRHHH! ACK-" Foxy and Goldie were too caught up in taking in gunman 16's final moments to fuss over not being mentioned. All that was left was static.
"16...? 16?!" Doc shouted hoping for a response. Nothing.Author's note: Now the rest of the crew want to write a zombie apocalypse story of their own!
