"That's funny. That tree is very green and beautiful for a tree that lives in the desert, don't you think that, Alfonso?" My mother said grabbing a tortilla. I turned around and noticed my mother was right.
"It is. Maybe the ones who lived here before us, really took care of it" my father said as he looked behind me. "Que hermosura de árbol."
"Mami, it has a big tree house, did you know that?"  I said eagerly. My mother smiled and looked up at me. "Really, mama? Later, do you want to show me?" She spoke.
                              "Yes!"
"Okay pero finish your food and we'll go, okay?" I nodded and tried to put most of the beans into my mouth. Our home is a little bigger than the one we had. Definitely safer and prettier but it was no where as near to a mansion. Apparently the homes here in Hesperia were very cheap and somewhat big.
                              ----
"Here we can put a chalkboard!" I said pointing to the one side of the tree house. My mom looked around amazed. Now that I think about it, the tree house looks somewhat like the one Gabriella and Troy were on in that one scene in high school musical. "This is one of the best tree house I've ever seen" my mom smiled as she looked over the view. By view, I mean the sunset. The sky was a dark orange with somewhat yellow and pink making the ground look black. Typical desert sunset. It was a beautiful scenery, it reminded me of back home.
"Hello?" I heard a voice. My mother and I looked at each other confused then looked down. On the other side of the fence, there stood a small boy, maybe my age.
"Hi!" My mother quickly got off meanwhile I stood there not moving a muscle.
"Hi. Sorry to interrupt, but do you mind throwing my blue ball back? It went over your fence." The small boy said. Im a very shy person and all I wanted to do was hide. Which I did, inside of the tree house where I hoped the boy didn't see me and only my mother. I heard my mother throw the ball back and the boy thank her. My heart was beating so fast, scared to get off.
I heard my mom laugh. "Mija, ya bájate." I peeked through the window to see the boy and 3 other boys from different ages play with the ball. I sighed in relief and quickly got off. "Why are you so nervous?"
"I-I'm not nervous. I'm just-" My mom smirked but then tried not to laugh. Oh no. What is this crazy woman planning?
"Do you like the boy?" She whispered bending down to my height since the boys can hear. I looked back at them and shook my head. "Of course not, mother. I'm too young to like a boy." I defended myself.
Only reason I was nervous was because I knew my mom would make me become friends with him and I'm not a social person. But then again, I just moved here and have no friends. Maybe becoming friends with him won't be that bad, right?
