Finally after many stressful weeks of planning, the day has come. I stood in front of the mirror and smiled big knowing today is the day I marry the love of my life.
"Ready?" My dad peaked his head and laughed. "A ver. Déjame ayudarte con la corbata." He walked towards me and put the tie over me.
"Were you this nervous?" I asked him as he did the last knot. He nodded and laughed "I cried too."
"I probably will too." I said smiling. "Gotta keep that family tradition." I said earning a laugh from my father.
"Estoy orgulloso del hombre que te has convertido." My father put his hand on my shoulder and looked at my eyes as his got glossy. "Aunque nunca me imaginé que tú serías el primero de casarse, estoy orgulloso de ti."
"Es porque tengo el mejor papá del mundo." At this point, both of our eyes were watery. "Lo quiero mucho." I brought him in for a hug and we stood there for a couple of minutes enjoying our hug but soon we were interrupted by Emanuel.
"Joel, it's time." He said and waited for me. My father and I let go and the three of us walked out inside the church.
As I walked to my spot, everyone turned around and I felt my heart beat faster as my hands got colder and shaky. Emanuel stood on my left as well as Israel and Gabriel. The bench near me, there sat my beautiful mother, grandmother and my father.
Couple of minutes later, the doors opened and the flower girls stood in their spot. My throat tighten as everyone stood up. I was eager to see my beautiful Amelia but was blocked by some of her friends and family from Mexico who came. The music began to play and everyone smiled and waited impatiently to see Amelia.
Soon, a smiling Amelia appeared with her father by her side. I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear. As she walked down the aisle, I felt by eyes get watery--there goes the tradition. I felt the world slow down and everyone disappeared. My eyes couldn't look away and were glued on Amelia as well as hers.
Once they both reached me, Alfonso placed Amelia's hand on mine and said, "Me la cuidas." I nodded and he sat down.
"You look beautiful." I whispered in Amelia's ear making her blush and smile.
"And you look handsome." She whispered back. We smiled at each other as I gave her hand a small squeeze. We both looked up at the priest and the ceremony began.

*Amelia's POV*
I looked up and listen to the priest but I felt a pair of eyes staring at me--Joel's. I turn to look at him and he smiled. I looked down at our intertwined hands and then around me. I was in awe to see how beautifully decorated the church was. The bench behind us, sat our parents smiling and tearing up. I looked back at Joel who was focused on the priest, and smiled so big.
I can't believe I'm marrying the love of my life.
